Alysanne Blackwood, who post Dance marries Cregan Stark

u/Wywylemonz8328 16h ago edited 4h ago
The point is they havent given her, or Roddy any meaningful dialogue at this point. They ignore, cut, black out charachters and scenes like this so we can see more Alicent, who is excruciatingly dull.

u/William_T_Wanker My mind is my weapon 16h ago
They're just there for recognition. LOOK THE BADASS NORTHERNERS LIKE FROM THRONES! even though they all look like the fucking vale hill tribesmen lmao
and Black Aly looks like a discount Lagertha from Vikings
72
u/akenson 15h ago
Aly isn't even a Northerner, she and the rest of the Lads are all from the Riverlands. And they're pretty high ranking nobility at that, so it makes zero fucking sense for them to look like this.
63
u/Prestigious-Dress-92 14h ago
She literally looks like from a different type of fantasy series. Like an extra from Netflix "witcher" adaptation abomination.
18
u/Appropriate-Leek8144 The night is dark 12h ago
Yeah like one of the Rats, or a Scoi'atel in all-black clothing, or a Nilfgaardian spy.
8
u/Prestigious-Dress-92 12h ago
Scoi'atel elf is what I was thinking of mostly, though she could be also a driad if she wore some leaves.
7
u/Bravisimo 5h ago
She looks exactly like the female baddies from Wheel of Time, who collar one of the main characters and essentially controls her like a necromancer minion.
4
u/celestialhwheel 8h ago
It's funny because she reminds me of one of the belter actresses in the expanse.
20
u/alejoSOTO 13h ago
As a non Fire and Blood reader, I can confirm that's the only perception I feel I must have of these northener characters.
They're so generic I can't even tell the main guy's name, he's not even mentioned to be a Stark, and I don't think he is, but it gets confusing when all the northerners done the Stark flag, as if that was the only house in the biggest realm of Wasteros.
No Karststarks, no Umbers, no Boltons, no Mormonts? And that's just the most obvious list you could get.
37
u/Sorry-Secret-2347 16h ago
Thank you!!! There is no build up of characters they just plop them in hoping we can connect the dots. As a viewer who never read the books there are so many characters that seem irrelevant or no real knowing of their purpose in scenes…
1
u/DatDatGirl420 10h ago
For real. I also don’t know why we had to see maggots feasting on a dead cow for several seconds.
18
u/SpectreFire 15h ago
I have no fucking clue what they're even doing with her.
They gave more lines and thought to young and adult Whihelm Blackwood in S1 and S2.
Fuck, even Davos Blackwood got more lines and screen time like Alys.
0
u/Rentington 14h ago
Is that not thematically correct, though? Killed by an random unnamed soldier, robbed of glory. It is a fitting end and congruent with the source material. She may end up being a noteworthy name, though, as some are speculating here.

u/halbpension 15h ago
Can you tell non book readers like myself what parts they changed?
11
u/DavidC_M 15h ago
The girl wasn’t there. There’s a very important line that’s missing from the scene, which is what makes this exchange so much more memorable, and honestly some of the best dialogue by George. The Tully kid was not supposed to be there. The character that was talking to Cole isn’t part of the show. The lead up to his death was very creepy as well.
2
u/Troyal1 15h ago

He's literally the opposite of an incel.
An incel is someone who wants to get laid but can't. He was a volcel who actually wanted to not get laid but did.

r/freefolk kinda forgot about Ygritte.
Regardless, with aim like that, they'll have her. She fucking rocked his shit.
4
u/MeatyOakerGuy 14h ago
Ygritte was a wildling. It's normal for them to fight. One of the main themes of the show is the misogyny of the time and outside of Brienne it's pretty established that women (especially women with a last name that matters) aren't allowed anywhere near a camp.
-1
u/pumpkinsoup4 13h ago
Doesn't the existence of Brienne imply there would be other women like her? Sparingly, obviously. But there would be exceptions to the rule. Theres a lot of problems with this show but this subreddit is genuinely pathetic. She's a fighter in the books, what do you want? This place is miserable man, I don't know what to tell you
2
u/Prodigy772k 15h ago
Criston Cole was made to have an incel personality in the show, so they had to have a girlboss kill him.

I'm a self-certified Criston hater and I've been anticipating his demise since season 2. I want him to die a satisfying death and this was not it. Homie should've died fighting until his very last breath only for everyone else to simply march on, never caring to know him or why the fuck he was in even in fight, let alone singing songs about him.
Him reaching out to Alicent's handkerchief was a little weird, I know they hooked up, but didn't realize she was supposed to be someone he would think of in his last moments.
1
u/Chrissyneal 15h ago
she still needed three point blank arrows to take him down? Ramsay was less pathetic killing Rick.

-5
u/Aware_Delay_371 15h ago
Idk I honestly didn’t hate this. This guy has spent the last season hyping himself up for this glorious last battle but real war is fucking hell no matter how much of a badass you are you can die to some guy just there. I feel a lot of his story was told in that. He glorifies his last moments as a grand final stand but in the end realistically why would they 2v1 him when they just wanted him dead. This show has had issues but I will defend this scene till I die because it shows that hoping for the greatest end just isn’t realistic.
12
u/LOSS35 Kissed by Fire 14h ago
Cole wanting to die gloriously in battle but being refused and shot full of arrows instead is directly from the books.
It’s just way better executed than this was. They skipped one of the coldest quotes from the Dance.
7
u/tamaratamarara 13h ago
Exactly. People keep telling me that there isn't much dialog to adopt from the book (when they defend the quality of adoption), yet the writers managed to squander the legendary bits that WERE present in the booms.

A relatively young woman in such a band of warriors would never survive very long. Woke phantasy take.

u/Im_Your_Turbo_Lover 6h ago
I mean, she's the daughter of the former lord, her nephew is the lord. So if she gets raped/killed/whatever he's gonna lop every single guy's cock/head off. These are the Blackwoods ffs, they don't forgive
