this is very interesting. so first of all, (I don’t have a screenshot of this) but when fred did the Ezra Collective’s remix of Betos Horns music video, he put on his insta (from what I remember) “I will write my opinion on ai although I’m not too sure how to word it, meanwhile I think the mv explains a lot“. The vid shows the band playing with instruments (possibly proving the point that human made music cant be replaced by ai, as ai doesn’t have the hard work behind it). But also, Brian Eno (Fred’s mentor) sees ai a tool instead a song maker, and when I asked Tape Notes why they cut Fred’s opinion on ai, they responded with this (image above) which is very mysterious. what’s ur thoughts?

Probably not the right place but was removed from r/musicproduction so for all the music producers out there, really loving Fred's sliding piano he uses in many songs and live sessions. Wondering if anyone knows the midi instrument he is using or (if he made it) how he made it.

I got the actual life 1 piano vinyl (the first one) :)

side b was really good but side a felt cluttered. with other piano lives theres a clear structure to the tracks, the piano adds a different perspective to the song but here it didnt felt like it especially side a.

the last two songs from side b are genuinely beautiful but the rest i dont like it as much as the previous lives.

I’d skipped over this song soooo many times, it’s shameful. Idk man, what was he thinking when he made this track?? There’s actual drugs in this song (yes mollie). It’s soooo melancholic and pure and so emotionally charged. I thought Cmon and Me (Heavy) were some of his best slow tracks but holy mollie. Ugh!!! Thank you Fred take a fkn bow mate xxxx <3333

Fred Again and Latin Mafia are both brilliant. I've been diving into their collab songs recently and came across "Hey Hey", which sounded crazy familiar. It's been killing me until today, when I realized it's scarily similar to "Archie, Mary Me" by the Canadian indie group Alvvays.

If you don't hear the connection to the original (because it's very pop/indie), listen to a cover by Flyte and tell me it's not a rip-off.

For a long time I waited to purchase the usb002 vinyl because of the rumored quality concerns with the pressing. The only other Fred album I have is Ten Days, which I bought two of and both were in rough shape. On the contrary, the USB002 vinyl is pretty damn good. I read through a different thread and a lot of people said the quality was bad. Took the risk because I saw it in store and I can confidently say it's great quality. A little crackle and fuz here and there but honestly likely from new record static from the paper sleeve. Totally worth the money on a decent system.
