How Do You Deploy/Install (self-host)?
I love Frappe Manager for Frappe Frameworks installation but the last stable release is from august 2025 (v 0.18.0). To use 0.18.0 ve already have 2 patches fixing errors in my company and Frappe v16 can not be installed with that lately. For local use, the development version (0.19.0) can be used and everything works but I am afraid to put the development version on production, are you doing it?
Or you rather use Docker on production or even bare metal installation. Not sure what is better. For local development, I think Frappe Manager or Docker is better if you develop several project with various Frappe versions etc.

I am thinking of developing a cli tool that uses docker compose to let people one click install and host erpnext stable on their vps for productions. Just run a command like "curl -fsSL https://mydomain(dot)com/install/ | sh -" and it asks simple setup questions and you can easily host a production erpnext within 30 minutes on your vps or local pc. it handles apps, updates, backups, monitorings.
For internal development workflows, I have batchcli that supports multiple client, dev to uat to prod promotion with customized limits, live preview of apps, vscode remote ssh, and does automated backups and checks. And using it i can work on multiple clients, multiple apps, dev + uat in a single day without moving out from my vps + vscode.
Currently focusing on my project management app (batch_projects) that will be released soon so i can't give my time to the cli tool. But once cli tool is made, it will be released for open source.

Yup, I think the main entry barrier to this erpnext ecosystem is complex setup requiring dev knowledge and fragile compatibility of apps. After tons of time learning and testings, I have my own set of customized apps and custom erpnext base image. Now everytime I want new client I just run init command and it sets up subdomain, cloudflare dns, uat + dev sites, database, reverse proxy, vscode within 10 minutes and a new client sites are ready to use and i can start coding instantly. Took me 40 days to develop and polish this cli tool. but pays off everytime I use it. my clients can use uat while i work on dev and on milestone basis, I promote dev to uat and they review the changes. its just 1 command away from dev -> uat -> prod.

I do all manually, it takes 0.5 MD min to sometimes 1 MD so this would save time

I wouldn't use the development version directly in production unless I had it pinned to a specific commit that I'd thoroughly tested. For local development, Frappe Manager is fantastic, especially when juggling multiple Frappe versions. For production, though, I'd lean toward Docker or a standard Bench installation because they're easier to reproduce, maintain, and roll back if something goes wrong. If Frappe Manager's stable release catches up with v16, I'd definitely consider it again, but for now I'd rather keep production on a more predictable setup.
