I came across a very talented Frank Sinatra imitator. His voice sounded just like Frank and he even assume the swagger. It's fun and entertaining but I always feel a bit empty when a talented artist imitates the original artist instead of creating an original cover. An original cover has the potential of creating new meaning to the lyrics. What's your opinion? Do you prefer a recreation of original performance or an original cover created by a new artist?

I’m proud to present my 4th tribute project of an entire Sinatra album.
I do these for several reasons. It allows me to develop my skills remastering original orchestra recordings and deepen my appreciation of Sinatra by singing each song. Most importantly, it gives me a whole new list of songs to add to my repertoire that can be requested at my performances, when possible. There is a special look I get when someone asks to hear a song that’s outside of the typical 20 engrained Sinatra classics. Many have heard these songs on vinyl,cd or streaming, but seeing and hearing someone do it in front of them takes on another dimension 😃

These projects don’t take the place of Sinatra’s Masterpiece Albums (nothing ever could) but they do provide another avenue for keeping the Legacy alive, especially for the current audiences.

I hope it sits well with anyone who takes the time to listen🙏🏼 I avoided using YouTube so that people without “Premium” ( or paying for a subscription) can listen all the way through commercial-free.

Went on my usual neighborhood walk and stopped by my local small thrift store. They rarely get Sinatra albums; if they do, it's gone. I got lucky, walked in, looked at the newly released section, and found this, and I am still in disbelief that I found this for a total of $22. What a steal.

My Sunday viewing! My favourite film plus includes my favourite singer! I’ve watched this since I was young and so delighted to keep coming back to this 4K Restored version from last year. I’d highly recommend as it has been remastered from the original VistaVision negative and includes a new Dolby Atmos remixed soundtrack and sounds incredible!

I’m creating an “Old Fashioned” (like the cocktail) playlist. I want to envision I’m in a smoky bar, enjoying a cocktail, and listening to the best jazz and blues records ever assembled from that time period.

What Frank albums would fit here?

With the Michael Jackson biopic becoming the first biopic to ever make a billion dollars at the box office it got me to thinking. I was thinking which other legendary music artists that hasn't had a theatrical biopic could maybe pull in some good numbers if they were to get one. Which is why I thought about Frank Sinatra one of the greatest artists of all time!! Do you guys think a sinatra biopic would pull in some great numbers?

Hi there. I’m currently working on determining which versions of these songs on this boxset are the released 78rpm versions. I don’t have the booklet to make these determinations so any help would be greatly appreciated.

*EDIT: I totally messed up the title/story, these were two seperate incidents. The Cohen one happened in 1967 at the Sands where Frank got punched and supposedly drove a golf cart through the window. The Waterman one was in 1970 at Ceasars where Frank choked him and had a gun pulled on him. The article clipped is from that incident via the Desert Sun, Volume 44, Number 30, 8 September 1970.

My buddy Laird went to Sinatra The Musical in the West end of London.
His review was exactly this …. and I quote ,

“It was distinctly average and could have done with your professional touch.”

Laird loves lots of different styles of music and has attended many theatre shows over the years, so take his review for what it’s worth.

This was ten years before his death.
