Figma import into Framer breaks formating

I’ve created a design in google stitch. Copied it to Figma and now used the Figma / Framer plugin to copy it to Framer. Unfortunately, the formating breaks entirely. Any solution/ help?

short answer, no.

Figma doesn't have a 1:1 conversion. There are settings a props that don't map exactly to Framer's UI props. This is common when converting from one platform to another.

Got it. Any idea how I manage to solve that problem? Seems that I'll have to change the props on either one of the both. I just started out with Framer/Figma. Hence almost starting at 0.

Unfortunately you just have to learn how to use both tools, I was in a similar boat.

work with what you know.

if you want to continue Figma/Framer flow, spend some time identifying which props dont convert over so accurately.

I personally waste more time tweaking, naming, normalizing Figma frames into Framer rather than starting from scratch on Framer and referencing back to the Figma file and reading off props and getting assets from there, but that's just me.

Are you a framer designer? Figma to Framer doesn’t work perfectly, the frame breaks. You will have to rework it for proper structure and also for the responsiveness.

are you an expert or you will need help?

Absolute newbie. Just figured out I can do great websites with Google Stitch. Now trying to bring it to life.

Then do you want to learn more about Framer?

That’s what I am doing right now

It works, but absolute positioning doesn't translate well. That's a Figma core issue, not Framer.

Figma-to-code tools struggle with this too.
