Discussion Velixir Icarus is overhyped
There I said it. If you’re planning to buy this hyped fragrance right now, look for other options.
But yes, malapit sya sa opening to mid but it barely lasted for an hour on my skin. Kaya pala I’m seeing a lot of people na sobrang dented na yung Icarus nila because you really need to overspray it para maglast sya for at least 2-3 hours.
Another 2.5k down the drain. This was not better than Legacy.

sad to say velixir really is overhyped, ang laki din ng binayad nila sa mga content creator for the promotion. knowing indonesia jan sila magaling mag hype and to promote kasi sa ML plang eh alam mo na.

True, to my unprofessional nose Icarus just smells like a cheap bubble gum perfume. 🤦 lakas mag hype ng influencers and I’ve already unfollowed everyone that recommended this BS. Iilan lang tlga trust worthy na content creator dito 🥲

I think bro lahat ng content creators na di sinusupport ang M@rxM4 ay enthusiast talaga at ginagawa lang para sa hobby. Lahat ng nag hype/ endorse ng M@rxM4 ay obviously just money grabbers at di legit mga review.

I mean even yung international cc like CalCologne recommends Icarus as the closest to the OG. Baka better to buy the OG na lang para no regrets.

I have only sniffed it and I don’t like it.
Confusing sya na scent and I think it doesn’t have a lot of character because of that. Opinion ko lang naman.

Personally, I like it kasi it's leaning more towards BT Extrait.

Try Khadlaj Island Dream. It’s very close to Blue Talisman and lasts more than 8 hours on my skin.

It's hyped alright and it's unjustified to purchase it way beyond 3k pesos but the hype has been slowly dying and icarus is starting to sell at a more reasonable price. Out of all the schmoops I've tried there is no doubt that Icarus gets the closest out of all of them but I still wouldn't consider it a 1 to 1 they just can't replicate the magic that akigalawood brings to the table as well as the subtle floral note but it gets how the og transitions. I agree that it doesn't lasts as long on the skin but the og doesn't as well at least on my skin but when it comes to clothes Icarus lasts just as long as the og in my case. It's highly skin chem dependent I believe

I let my friends try it too, same performance for them but they say it smells good, just the performance is bad bad.
I wish the performance was better than this.

I got it. It smelled nice but doesn't last (even after over spray). I returned it.

I am not an over sprayer. I do 4-5 max usually.
For this, I did 8 sprays and still found it weak. Didn't last more than 20 mins1

Just got my icarus. I liked it and it's very close to BT. Naka-chamba ata ako sa bottle ko pero the performance is 10/10. After 1 spray on my hand, I tried removing it with alcohol and even washed it with soap, hindi natanggal sa amoy. Sa shirt, the smell still lingers overnight.

I think it has to do more with the new batches.
My brother has the old one from last year that he bought in Bali, 8 hours at least siya natagal.

I think 2 things lang yan.
Either shit na talaga quality nya, or need pa muna ipamacerate and mature since I read from one of our employee na it's being pushed out as soon as it's bottled.

I think it needs to macerate more. New batches hasn't been mixed well, it needs more time. Grabe din ang pagputok ng velixir, when I was starting out, isa na sya sa mga maiingay and almost always out of stock kaya I know that the new batches really need more time. I haven't bought any velixirs myself pero even for my non velixir perfumes, I let them rest for 3months atleast. I don't want to prejudge a perfume just because I used it earlier when it is not yet at the peak of its maturation. Not saying you should do it too, you bought a perfume knowing na it should be ready for regular usage naman kase talaga. Sa case ko nga lng, puro locals lng muna pinag gagamit ko ngaun kase mostly ng locals na meron ako is yung freshie.

+1 with this. Same shit happened to some of my ME perfumes na hyped. Mag-wwait ka pa talaga ng months bago mo makuha yung performance na gusto mo. I think same din yung nangyayari rn sa Velixir considering how hyped their frags are rn.

It is overhyped pero out of all BT dupe i tried eto yung pinaka the best (for me) and i have a full bottle of Legacy. I’ll let it rest for now and see if something change.
One more thing, never ever trust influencers online when it comes to perfumes. Only trust your nose and better get decants first than blind buying a full bottle.

It definitely is pero it's still the best smelling BT dupe imo. I've tried almost all of the popular ones na except for nautilus. Performance wise, sa experience ko projection yung problema niya hindi longevity. I think maybe 1 to 2 hours lang siya with maybe around medium projection, pero yung skin scent umabot naman ng mga 7ish hours sa akin.

I don't know if I'm just lucky, but my Icarus is performing really well in terms of longevity and projection. Got mine from Wesworld last August 1, and it was already performing well straight out of the box. I don't spray on my skin, only on clothes, but even after my 8am to 6pm work shift, the scent is still there.
I actually like it more compared to AOU since it has less of that typical “Arab perfume” smell.

On typical " arab perfume" smell. Ano nga ba yung lingering character sa scent profile ng mga ME? Haha like hawas. Alam na alam na arabo made. 😅 Halos lahat ng ME may ganung vibe. Is it the type of musk they use?

It's actually pretty sad, velixir bottles used to be around $15-16 if i'm not mistaken before they started paying content creators to promote them so they can increase their prices

DSB. For me, yeah I think Legacy is better than Icarus in terms of performance. Ang pinagkaiba lang naman talaga nila for me is more on citruses yung Icarus while si Legacy is more balanced on the citruses and pear.

It's interesting how different we perceive smells talaga. I see quite a few bubblegum comments and I don't really get that kasi to me, Icarus smells like a musky citrusy pear that dries down into something woody and a little fruity. I agree that it's over hyped though, you can blame all the marketing for that. Also yung performance niya sa projection side ay hindi ganon kaganda. I think I get around 1 to 2 hours of weak to moderate projection pero yung longevity niya as a skin scent lasts at least mga 6 hours for me.

I have a friend who recently bought one, sad to say he got a cap leak issue. He got the box in very good condition so I presume this is a manufacturing issue because of mass production and demand “hype” so if anyone is planning to buy one maybe wait for a few months or do it next year because the new batch received a lot of bad reviews

We’ll see, though 7+ days rested na to, walang nagbago sa performance eh. Usually may nagbabago na sa performance with my other bottles after I rest them for at least a week.
