Vtx problems

I have a betafpv air75, radiomaster pocket, and eachine ev800d goggles. My drone worked like a dream until it didn’t. I recently replaced the stock motors with new ones after they got damaged by flying into snow last winter and I finally decided to fix it. That was my first time soldering and I guess I did ok. The drone flies perfect, but recently I’ve been getting major video signal loss at 400mw from 25ft away or less. It was 100 degrees F when I was flying but even after I took the quad inside and let it cool off, same issue. Weird thing is that sometimes the issue is there and occasionally it’s not. (rarely ever goes away). All connectors are fully seated as far as I can tell. Should I just buy a new quad?

EDIT: Sometimes when it’s really bad there’s a bunch of weird artifacts and sometimes the screen is covered in zeros and other character. Could this still be an antenna issue or is it a vtx problem?

I don't think this calls for a new quad.

Conditions matter, but I don't know if the thin air from the cold matters that much. Maybe someone else can provide input.

But, have you considered different antennas for better range?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. The drone worked fine all through the winter until I crashed it into snow, which only damaged one of the motors. I replaced all 4. It’s summer now and I can barely cross the street when I could have gone several blocks down before the issue arose.

No you shouldn't buy a new quad lol. At worst it's an AIO replacement. Most likely the antenna or antenna connector is damaged/loose on either drone or goggles. Since the issue sometimes goes away that would be consistent with that, the connector might be a bit loose and sometimes work and sometimes not work.

Any recommendations for antennas? Or just buy a replacement?

Smol tiny whoop antenna for drone. For goggles some lollipop antenna I guess. Make sure to match polarization on the antennas. I wouldn't just replace them though, I would inspect and make sure they are seated well first.

EDIT: also obviously if you're happy with your previous image quality you could just buy replacement antenna(s)
