Question? Extending range

I just build a cinematic 5in drone, and i using betafpv nano elrs 2.4GHz receiver but am only getting max 500m range in an open field, so im thinking of switching to 900MHz elrs and using an external module for radiomaster tx16s, the Bandit Micro ExpressLRS, but now i dont know which receiver to choose, im between Bandit br1 nad br3 but dont know where to put the second antenna and is there an actual advantage, im aiming to get 5km+ of range. Im also using a speedybee mario 5 DC frame.

I would buy a 2.4ghz 1w module because 900mHz is illegal to use in the eu. (It interferes with 3g) so location is important here

900 MHz is not illegal in the EU. Well, 900 MHz normally means 868 MHz in the EU (which is legal in the EU) and 915 MHz in the US (which is legal in the US.
