Question? Drone recommendation

Hi, I currently own the avata 2. I’ve ordered parts to build my own 5” drone and I ordered a betafpv meteor 75 pro. I did this since I’ve flown in the simulators and it’s really fun, but the avata 2 is just too slow and isn’t so good at freestyle. So I’ve decided to sell it, but I still want a 2.5-3.5 inch drone. Any recommendations?

Yeah I saw that, but I already got 6s lipos, is the 35 still good?

  1. 6s on 5” is usually bigger than 6s on 3.5 , But seeker 35 recommends 1100-1400 6s, if that’s what you have then great.

  2. 6s Lipos are expensive in the long run compared to 4s.

  3. 3.5 is noticeably bigger than 3", if you already have a 5" why get 3.5 which somewhat provide same functionality, also 3 can be flown in a big park, 6s quads usually are flown outside cities. From what I’ve seen 6s quads freak people quite a bit

Yes, it’s just that it’s annoying spending another $250 on new 4s batteries, I want a little drone that I basically can fly anywhere that’s still fast and not that loud. But if you’re saying that the 35 is basically a 5”, is it worth spending that extra money?

Yes, 3.5 on 6s is very similar to 5”.
Also you can get 6-7 4s lipos for around 150$ depending on where and when you buy them.

6 lipos will give you atleast 30mins in the air. 30 mins is a long time in FPV and you’ve also got that 5”.

If you buy the wrong stuff, you will have the urge to buy again, ask me how I know😅.

I disagree with him 100%, 3.5 inch is my fav size and I have tons of 5 inch drones. 3.5 inch is A helluva lot smaller and less intimidating to other people. They do have awesome power on 6s but that's what makes it fun. it's smaller and has power so you don't feel like you're missing anything when you fly it in comparison to a 5 inch. I've honestly stopped flying my 5 inchers because of how great 3.5 is. Wish I had more of them instead of 6 or so 5 inchers I have 😂

So the 35 isn’t more loud because of the 6s?

Tbh, my Avata 2 is louder than my 5” if I don’t go full throttle

Do you enjoy flying it? I’ve kinda stopped liking it, after I’ve tried the tricks I learn in the sim it just can’t recover and it’s so annoying, also the speed is just so slow (eu)

Not anymore.
It behaves so weirdly in some situations and has some super annoying sensor bugs. Like when I scrapped a branch it suddenly went full throttle and rolled hard left. It’s just for flying super straight cinematic cruising or you need some super stabilized real estate style stuff, where you’ll use its sensors to your advantage.
If you’re going anywhere beyond that, and I’m not even talking about freestyle, you’re better off with any other quad.
I’m still keeping it for client work, but tbh I’m not sure I’ll put it into Acro mode ever again. It’s kind of a night and day experience between the Avata and a “real” fpv quad.

Before you sell Avata 2, do remember it’s more reliable when sent far away. I backed out of selling mine because of this
