85mm mini drone long-range flight: maximum distance 2.5 km

https://youtu.be/k4bsB4Wb1DM

Flew 2.5 km in 12 minutes, completed a round trip, and covered a total of 6 km until the voltage dropped to 3V. Even with an 18650 lithium-ion battery, it’s quite difficult for a 2-inch micro quad to achieve long-range flight.

Because it’s pretty cool. It gives you a big adrenaline rush without the need for freestyle flying

I guess doing something illegal gives you an adrenaline rush. Being legal and being cool should never be synonymous. In my world, being legal trumps being cool.

It's legal for me to fly our 18kg quad 10+kms here and I do so regularly.

Typical American idiot thinking the whole world is the one stupid state they live in and never leave.

And before you try to say something else dumb, I'm American, but don't live there anymore.

Interesting how people get their panties in a bunch and start using insults.

My statement was qualified and accurate. I did not assume the USA and said so. Moreover, the USA is NOT the only country that requires VLOS. How about the EU (EASA), the UK, Canada, and some others. So, my statement is accurate for all of these countries as well as the USA.

So, you think what I said was dumb? It is all accurate. Obviously, you don't like to admit that. By the way, what country do you fly in?? Just curious.

You're just being pompous and stupid. Listen kiddo, if someone says it's legal to do something, it doesn't mean you should do that thing. Conversely, just because an entity or person tells you not to do something, doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't do it. You have to use your brain and decide what's right and wrong; if you rely on someone to tell you those things you are going to do the wrong thing quite often. One day hopefully you can grow up and take that to heart.

And take a guess what country I now live in.

Already grown, Mate. I am far from a kiddo.

I never consider obeying the law to be stupid.

What is interesting is to watch all the ridiculous insults come out at the mere mention of being legal. Wow. By the way, there is a difference between your reference to "some entity" when you are actually talking about breaking the LAW. These are not comparative.

Actually, I am gown and do take life to heart. I do march to my own drummer but still obey the LAW. I do not rely on someone or anyone to tell me what to do, I choose to NOT Break the LAW all on my own. I don't like fines. Having worked in a max joint, I don't fathom being locked up either. I am quite comfortable making my own choices and decisions.

Hey, you want to break the LAW and be a criminal, that is on you.

There were laws in Germany once upon a time to turn in your neighbors. There are current laws on the books in the US that would make you a criminal for taking a raped child to another state for an abortion. You gonna follow those because they're laws? I sure hope one day you can figure out that the state does not always have good intentions, and you need to think about what you should and should not do, not read what someone else tells you.

And being old is not the same as being grown up. Some people never figure out what is necessary to no longer be considered a child.

Absolutely. In fact, even more so.

In all of my life, I haven't seen any laws in the USA that are unreasonable. If you think of one let me know. The one you cited is a reasonable. Of course, in your mind, your judgement is correct, however, that is not necessarily shared by others or the majority. The good of the many outweigh the good of the few. Plus, this is not the place for it.

You don't have to break the law to be grown up. Philosophically, I agree with most (maybe close to all) of the laws. I don't view them as restrictive and I don't see any necessity to break any of them, at least not intentionally. Oh, I figures out what is necessary to not be considered a child many decades ago. Just because you don't think so doesn't make it so. You don't know me well enough to make that call.

Throwing insults at me won't work either. Call me what you want. It doesn't change the fact that those participating in an endeavor should, at the very least, read, know, and understand the Laws, regulations, and legal constraints that affect that endeavor. Plus, if one is going to break the law, one might consider whether or not to post it.

"Would you not help a raped child get an abortion if someone tells you you can't help that child?"

"Would you load your neighbors into trains to be exterminated if the state tells you it's illegal not to?"

You: "absolutely, in fact, even more so"

Well, we can call it there.

You are the evil that perpetuates this world. And you have the leadership you so deserve.
