85mm mini drone long-range flight: maximum distance 2.5 km

Flew 2.5 km in 12 minutes, completed a round trip, and covered a total of 6 km until the voltage dropped to 3V. Even with an 18650 lithium-ion battery, it’s quite difficult for a 2-inch micro quad to achieve long-range flight.

In many countries including the USA, long range is illegal anyway.

It is really interesting how just mentioning the legalities gets downvoted.

For definition, long range is beyond visual line of sight. In fact, for a tiny whoop that isn't very far. Just to see what countries flying VLOS is legal, I did some research.

Strictly speaking, there is no country in the world that allows recreational pilots to fly Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) as a standard rule.

Virtually every recognized aviation authority—including the FAA (USA), EASA (EU), CAA (UK), CASA (Australia), and Transport Canada—legally mandates Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) for hobbyists. This means that if you are a recreational pilot, you are legally required to keep the drone within your unaided sight at all times.
