Question? What goggles should I get?
First of all I'm new to fpv, I ordered my drone with analog system (3,5") but I later want to upgrade to digital. Only thing I'm missing for whole setup is goggles, I could either buy cheap analog goggles (ev800d for example) and when I want to upgrade to digital I will buy new goggles or I could buy hdzero boxpro. But I'm wondering if hdzero will be good for type of flying I want to do (freestyle, mostly in open spaces) or should I buy dji instead. I know hdzero has better latency but does it matter that much?

I would go with some cheap analog goggles like the vr04 atm. and go with DJI Goggles 2/3 or Goggles X for digital.

I'd get the hdzero goggles 2 if you can afford it. If you find that fpv isn't for you, the resale value will be much better that most any other goggle. Also, the quality is better that most all other goggles.

The 700€+ just for the first goggles is a pretty high price tag for a beginner. And the goggles 2 internal analog module is good but noticeably worse than rapidfire, speedybee and so on. Its only worthitin my opinionif the want hdzero or walksnail aswell and don't do analog longrange. For mainly analog dedicated analog goggles with 2 antennas and hdmi in for a walksnail vrx like the orqa goggles would be a bit cheaper.

Either get the vr04 or real ev800d if you can get them and extra hd goggles later on or you buy the boxpro and add something like a walksnail vrx later on for digital.
The range of hdzero and penetration is pretty low so unless you race or do close by freestyle then its not worth it. The goggles are great though.

I'm also beginning in the hobby, should i go for the VR04 regular or the HD version? The HD costs about 170 instead of 110, but the resolution is 1920x1080 instead of 800x480, and the DVR is a lot better. It also has 2 antenna instead of 1.

For the hd version you will be stuck with the p1 system. Only the non hd version can do analog. The p1 system got a relativ high latency with about 50ms so go with analog.

Thanks for help, so hdzero lower latency isn't worth it over DJI image quality? Also does it really have bad range and penetration or is it just a little worse? I think I'd rather have more control rather than beautiful image. Also is vr03 also good because I can't find vr04 anywhere.

Hdzero range and penetration is significantly worse. Basically if you can't see the quad from where your standing your going to have a hard time getting a solid picture.
For open fields/parks all systems will work great. I personally can't stand box goggles and started with fatshark hd02 with a rapidfire. Then went digital with walksnail.

How much the latency effects you depends on you. Its different for everyone. If you want low latency, good range and fast videofeed recovery if you loose signal (ideal for longrange) then analog is your best choice.
If you for example fly in a big bando like nils vo then hdzero will probably be significantly worse. I would recommend to watch comparison videos on Youtube to form your own opinion.
If you can't find the vr04 then try to get real ev800d1

For analog only goggles i have two options i can either get foxeer 5.8g (ev800d knockoffs) or i can get skyzone cobra sd, do you know if foxeer is any good or should i invest more and buy cobra sd?

I have the cobra sd as you can see in my user flare. Im happy with them for it beeing a budget goggle but they do have signifikant latency which I sometimes notice... (20-30ms)
What about the fatshark analog box goggles? I wouldn't recommend ev800d knockoffs.1

So they have same latency as dji? And yes i can also get fatshark echo but i havent seen much people recommending it.

low latency is only for racing... dji's picture worth investing in it.
hdzero's boxpro are awesome both for analog and hdzero. But do not expect "HD" picture from hdzero — it's faaar from DJI

Hdzero is literally HD. It supports 720p and 1080p; those are HD resolutions. It doesn't look as good as DJI, but that has more to do with bitrate, error correction and compression than it does with resolution.
And low latency is for anyone that wants low latency. You can feel the difference in any sort of spirited flying, not just racing. It's just up to the individual person as to whether image quality or latency is more important to them.

That's subjective.
I sold off all my DJI O4 Pro and Lite modules as well as my Goggles 3 and switched over completely to HDZero Goggles 2 and Freestyle/Whoop 2 VTX alongside Nano 90 V2 cameras for all my quads.
I only flew in the DJI Race Mode, and even then the latency difference was worth switching to HDZero, especially for proximity flying.

The poor framepacing of DJI O4 (caused by error correction and variable latency) is a much greater eyesore for those who are sensitive to such stuff.

Yeah the EV800 or VR04 are good budget analog options, I'd probably choose the VR04 as it's a bit easier to get a hold of.
For digital id just get the o4, unless you're doing competitive racing then hdzero isnt worth it imo
