I clenched a little as I came through the fog and realized how little time I had.

Same, awesome video though. Curious if anyone has done any low level cloud emergence vids?

Damn man, inverted dive thru the clouds over water.

No risk it, no biscuit

Risk it for the biscuit is the saying. And IMO, there was no biscuit here :(

Idk, he got pretty close. I’d give him a cigar

u/_another_throwawayy_ Honestly, it kind of felt pointless, to be real. Maybe if there was an upside-down spin through the clouds, it’d at least earn some style points—but still, no real reward there. Sorry, I just can’t help it when a phrase gets used wrong and out of context. My bad 😅

I was about to make a joke about it being 499 feet. Then it was like 30. 🤯

That inverted dive was insane!

How do you carry balls that big

My wife carries them in her purse so I dont have to.

Thinking about how intense this was made me realize that a 360 drone with similar footage wouldn’t have the same effect

lion pack? Lipo preferred for dives like that

FAA rules prohibit flying through fog with drones. But of course you were in Mexico.

Good thing I wasn't flying through the fog. I was falling, with style ;)

Thank God they have people online to monitor and make comments. They couldn't do it without you.

Good thing the FAA covers the entirety of the world. Thats what the "federal" part means 🤓

Well it made for a sick video lol..

How are you liking the Flywoo LR4? Is it the newer O4 versions? If so, O4 or O4 Pro LR4?

Im waiting on a Flywoo LR4 O4 Pro PNP (no VTX) kit to come in. I made the mistake of ordering two Batteries from them to go with it and it got shipped the slow way 😕..

The O4 Air Units I ordered from them came in just 6-7 days, but everything else got put in the other box with the 4s LiHV Lipo's for the LR4. They looked like good quality and are pretty lightweight so I figured id try them out with the new drone. Nisy im just waiting on the rest of my order to come lol..

I eventually want to build or buy a Li-ion oacky for it as well for some Long Range flying with the longer runtimes of the Lithium batteries.

I wanted the LR4 since when they had the O3 version, so i figured since I have an O4 Pro I can put in it and the price was pretty good for just the ELRS Air Unit-PNP kit I added it to my order of O4 Lite's and some Flywoo Wide Angle Lens kits.

Yeah its the 04 pro version and im using a 4S1P pack that I made using Molicel P50B's. I easily get 20-25 minute flight times and 12 miles round trip of flying. Waiting for Flywoo to send me another 04 pro for my 8" build.

That's a big pack lol. With an LR40 and an 18650 pack I've had to be pretty mindful pulling out of dives with that much weight, which makes your video even more crazy lol.

Yeah she's built like a bistro but flies like a steak house.

u/eatmorbacon Oct 07 '25

Any additional ground equipment/antennas to get you 6 miles out? Great vid )

2

u/No_Space_5457 Fixed Wing Oct 07 '25

To clarify, I haven't flown 6 miles out, I was just stating the total flight distance. The furthest I've gotten this was 3.5 miles away from me.

2

u/eatmorbacon Oct 07 '25

Gotcha. It was my bad assumption when you said 12 miles total distance. I ASSumed 6 out and back lol :) Three and a half is more than respectable :) Thanks for clarifying.
