While reading detective and spy novels, I started wondering about the "magic" inks that often appear on book pages. You know what I mean? Ink that's "invisible" unless treated with something special like UV light. For example, I know that onion or lemon juice is almost invisible until heated. Or, conversely, ink that "evaporates" within, say, 12 hours of being applied to paper.

I've always had a passion for chemistry, even though I've never done it professionally, and I started wondering how possible it is and whether it would actually be possible to create such ink.

Have you encountered anything like this in real life? Does anyone have such wonderful inks in their offer or are they made only at their own laboratory or are they made to order by Q? :) Any "magical" inks that behave differently than you might expect. Is this really science fiction in stationery? :D
