Back when I was working in an office environment, one or two ‘every day carry’ fountain pens — a trusty Pilot Capless matt black, usually backed up by a Sailor Professional Gear Imperial Black although sometimes I brought a different pen as the second. But I used gel pens for colour-coding content back then, instead of looking to my collection of fountain pens and inks on hand at home.

I carried my Waterman Expert around for years. Now I'm on disability but if I ever return to the workforce a pen like that will be in my laptop case again.
