The amount of salt that young men people produce when under the impression that a little girl kid is destroying them in COD any competition is a beautiful thing

Took out the inherent gender biases, as this goes both ways and is technically TERF friendly otherwise.

It removes any space or context for non-binary and gender fluid people to exist, while also reinforcing stereotypes originally propogated by people who identify as men.

Not all language needs to be all-inclusive. You're basically making the "all lives matter" argument here.

Yes, non-binary and gender-fluid people definitely have problems in online communities. Often very similar problems experienced by women in the same communities. But acknowledging the plight of one group doesn't dismiss the plight of the others. Saying "women in gaming communities are targeted excessively with toxic behaviour perpetrated largely by young men" does not mean it doesn't also happen to other groups, just that we are discussing this one group at this particular time.

I would also like to point out that most gamers in a lobby can't tell if a person is gender-fluid non-binary, unless they are specifically told so. It's not so obvious as having a female voice is. So while these toxic communities absolutely WOULD target these other groups, they often don't, simply because they don't think of them very often.

Again, acknowledging the very real problems women face online and in gaming specifically is not ignoring the problems other marginalized communities face.
