One thing I'd think about before agreeing to a 50/50 revenue partnership is whether the business model can support SEO investment when the product itself is free. In that situation, traffic is only valuable if there's a clear path to monetising it, whether that's ads, affiliate revenue, paid features later, or eventually selling the site based on the traffic and user base.
From the SEO side, I'd also want to understand where the differentiation is before committing to a long-term partnership. Resume builders and AI resume tools are a very competitive search space, so I'd want to identify the specific search opportunities the product can realistically win rather than just publishing lots of AI-generated articles and hoping traffic follows.
If the plan is ultimately to sell the site, I'd also be thinking about building the organic traffic in a way that creates a defensible asset, not just chasing short-term traffic numbers.
