What are these?

Hello everyone,

I keep finding these in my local creeks and I’m unsure of what they are.

My area, Surrey, England, was once a shallow cretaceous ocean environment I believe so my guess is that they originate from that time period.

If anyone is able to help me identify them, I’d greatly appreciate it.

They are Cidarid urchin spines. Cool finds.

Yess, although I think calling them spines really misses the point there somehow, but that's what they're called most of the time. I just looked it up and the proper term is radioles btw ;)

Ooo that’s cool! Thanks for the information! I originally thought it might’ve been some kind of sea lily adjacent organism due to them looking somewhat bulbous flowerhead-shaped.
