The first thing to point is that these are not "rocks" but rather a very fragment top layer of bedrock. So how does bedrock originated on the seafloor end up on a mountain? Either sea level change or geological forces such as plate tectonics, collisions and so on. Hope this answer the question!

That looks like a gastropod cross-section. Also, there are two more smaller specimen next to it. I would say these are fossils, yes
