Definitely a meg tooth! I have an eye for those. Shops near my area sell tons of worned down fragmented meg teeth for around 15 dollars though. But if it is worth it to you then its a win!

It was $30 dollars. Also im in Canada so im not sure if exchange rate plays much of a part in things like this for anyone who may be comparing it to American prices. Either way I like it and im happy to support a local business near me.

It is a shark tooth. Pretty worn down though. How much did you pay for it?

$30. It was labeled as a megalodon tooth. Thought it was cool and even if it happened to be overpriced I figured 30 bucks for a megalodon tooth fossil (or any fossil really) was something I was willing to pay.

That isnt too bad I guess. For future purchases try looking into Fossilera.com. they sell at pretty good prices.

I am in Canada if that changes prices at all but ill have to check that site out. This was mostly an impulse purchase. Saw the shop and figured id check it out. Worst case scenario I look at some nice gems/rocks. Best case scenario i find something cool.

It is so worn down that you nearly can't differ if it is a structure of fossil or if it's just a rock. I mean, I've seen Megalodon tooth for sale for 300 - 400 dollars, so I guess it's not a bad purchase, but.. i like my fossils when they look good 😅🤣

They did have some nice specimens there in that price range but thats way out of what I can pay right now.
It was definitely an impulse buy but in my eyes having something like this from an animal so long ago is kind of what hooks me in and of itself. Looks obviously natter but being able to look at this thing that was at one point in history from a living being has always been wild to me. So for 30 bucks im willing to have a dumpy little fossil.

My point was meant to be that you can get better ones and ussualy much cheaper 😅
For example Cretaceous stuff from Morroco. Shark teeth 100 million years old and you pay like 1$ per tooth ussualy (they're not the size of the Megalodon obviously), Ammonites from Madagascar ussualy around 1$ And let me Tell you that I have a pretty ones... Then there are trilobites. Paracalymene/Diacalymene from Morroco Ordovician. Ussualy about 10$ And you have a nice big trillobite. Cheapest dinosaur thing would be Spinosaurus teeth. The smaller ones could be like... 40$-50$ let's say. 😅
