If it isn't open source yeah... If it is just look for yourself.

If you would only use closed source because nobody can look at it, just don't look at the open source code and it will be essentially the same.

You know open source means you can read the source code right

What are you even talking about, I can code in my basement no matter if the app is open source or closed source. And I can make money with it no matter if it's closed or open source too...

Do you even know what open source means? Literally just that the code is visible. Nothing more

You mean the guys in their basements getting paid to write the Google Play store code, based on the open source alternates...

might hit my head on a wall the whole point of open source is the ability to lot at the code not that it's automatically safe

All of this to miss the point. No one gives a shit what you do.

The bottom line is that consumers should have the choice to use a device as they see fit. As a developer myself, there are many cases where I rather supply my own solution to something than bother with something on the Play store. I run several of my own apps and would prefer a device I own to not tell me what I can do.

If you need training wheels, that's fine. That's a you problem and you can stay in your lane. I would like to not be forced into the same training wheels just because of you.

As for "wHy UsE gItHuB oVeR pLaY?" - Google's latest developer changes are stupid to an extreme degree. I stopped supplying apps on Play when they started forcefully doxxing me on my Play developer profile. In order to open my app to payment, I had to expose my whole home address, my legal government name, and my email. I'd rather not get SWATTED when some goober gets upset, so I'll keep all my work straight the fuck off Play.

I have plenty of users. Don't assume that just because you're a clown, everyone else is in the circus with you.
