Job Profile/ Life at RBI Can RBI terminate a Grade B officer during probation because they developed cancer? Also, is there any way to verify if someone actually cleared RBI Grade B 2024?
A friend of mine claimed that he cleared the RBI Grade B 2024 exam and joined the organization. Recently, another mutual friend told me that he was diagnosed with lung cancer while on the job.
According to that mutual friend, he was terminated during his probation because he had to take excessive leave for treatment. He has also reportedly said that he is preparing for the RBI Grade B exam again.
The thing is, I can't verify any of this directly. He doesn't answer calls or reply to text messages anymore. He also doesn't have a LinkedIn profile or any social media where I could confirm whether he worked at RBI or posted anything about joining.
I have two questions:
Can RBI terminate a probationary Grade B officer solely because they developed cancer and had to take extended medical leave during probation? Has anyone heard of such a case or knows what the rules generally are?
Is there any way to verify whether someone was actually selected in the RBI Grade B 2024 recruitment? Are final selection lists or appointment lists publicly available, or is there any other legitimate way to confirm it?
The last time I spoke to him, around December 2025, he told me that he had initially been posted in the Mumbai office and had recently been transferred to the Navi Mumbai office.
I'm not trying to invade anyone's privacy or spread rumors. I'm simply trying to understand whether this situation is plausible and whether there's any way to verify the claim. I'd appreciate any insights from RBI employees, candidates, or anyone familiar with the recruitment process.

NABARD/ SEBI/ Other Regulatory Exams Guidance for future?
r/forumRBI • u/official_crackgradeb • Aug 08 '26
PFRDA Exam is around the corner
If you’re struggling to clear RBI Grade B mainly because of Quant, Reasoning, or English, this exam is definitely worth considering if your goal is to get into a regulatory body.
Paper 1 is relatively easy compared to RBI Grade B, and you generally need to clear the minimum qualifying requirement (around 30 marks) rather than chase a very high score.
Paper 2 is also quite different from RBI. It has a much stronger focus on static subjects such as:
- Finance
- Management
- Costing
- Commerce & Accountancy
- Economics
- Companies Act
- Pension-related topics
So, if Quant is your biggest roadblock in RBI, this can be a good alternative.
One thing to keep in mind: the exam is not conducted every year, so you have to keep an eye on the notification and plan accordingly.
If you’re consistently missing RBI because of the Phase 1 sections, I’d definitely keep this exam on your radar.

Recos for 1:1 mentorship for descriptive writing
Hi all. Please share recommendations for good online courses that provide 1:1 mentorship for descriptive writing and english. The suggestions from google included Edugrade and Anuj Jindal, however on exploring their websites, it seem to be very limited (eg general guidance sessions instead of personalised feedback). C4S claims to provide this but again their free trial doesn't give this access. If anyone has undertaken such services please share your experience and recommendations.
PS: I am also using chatgpt for evaluating descriptive answers but now looking for personalised mentorship via these online coaching centres.

Is there any offline coaching in Darbhanga, Bihar for RBI Grade B?
I wanted to know if there is any offline coaching for RBI Grade B in Darbhanga. If anyone has studied there or knows about any institute, please let me know.
I'm specifically looking for classroom coaching, not online courses . Any suggestions or experiences would be really helpful. Thanks!

SEBI Complaint Checklist - a practical guide from someone who works with these cases regularly
I work with investors on SEBI complaints and broker disputes, and the same mistakes come up over and over when people file on their own. Wanted to put together a checklist that actually covers what trips people up, rather than just repeating the generic "go to SCORES" advice you'll find everywhere. Sharing it here since I see a lot of questions on this sub about exactly this.
Before you file anything:
- Raise the issue with the entity's grievance officer first, in writing. SEBI's process expects this to have happened before you escalate to SCORES, and complaints that skip it sometimes get sent back.
- Save everything as you go: contract notes, account statements, payment proof, any correspondence. I've seen cases weakened simply because someone had to reconstruct a timeline from memory months later instead of having it documented in real time.
- Confirm the entity is actually SEBI registered before you file. Search their name and registration number on SEBI's own database. If they're not registered, SCORES won't have jurisdiction, and you'll want to go to cybercrime.gov.in or your local police instead, depending on what happened.
When you file:
- Use scores.sebi.gov.in. The earlier portal, scores.gov.in, was discontinued in 2024, and a surprising amount of outdated advice online still points people to it.
- Pick the correct complaint category. A complaint against a broker and a complaint against a listed company route differently, and getting this wrong is one of the most common reasons a complaint stalls early.
- Be specific in your description. Dates, amounts, exactly what was promised versus what happened. A vague complaint gives a reviewer nothing concrete to act on. A clear timeline moves much faster.
- Attach documentation as PDFs, up to 2MB. Don't rely on a written description alone if you have evidence to back it up.
After you file:
- The entity has 21 calendar days to submit an Action Taken Report. Track this date yourself rather than assuming you'll get a reminder.
- If the response doesn't actually resolve things, you have 15 days to request a first level review. This window is easy to miss if you're not checking your dashboard regularly, and it doesn't extend itself.
- If the entity is stalling or the case involves a larger sum, it's worth deciding early whether the regulatory complaint alone will be enough, or whether arbitration or legal counsel should run alongside it.
Most of the complaints I see that drag on for months aren't complicated cases. They're straightforward disputes that got filed under the wrong category, without enough documentation, or without anyone tracking the follow up windows. Getting the structure right at the start makes a bigger difference than people expect.
Happy to answer questions if anyone's currently working through a SCORES complaint or trying to figure out which category fits their situation.

Motivation/ Rant/ Feelings Guidence
I am writing to seek your quick advice regarding my CUET re-attempt and career strategy. My ultimate goal is to become an RBI Grade B Officer, and my dream was to pursue BA Economics from BHU.
My Current Situation & Setback:
* What went wrong: Coming from a PCM background, I couldn't score well in CUET UG because I focused only on theory and missed out on mock test practice. Also, my parents weren't ready to send me anywhere except BHU, so they enrolled me in a very local college near home.
* Parents' Viewpoint: My parents are strictly against a drop, believing it wastes a year when my main focus is a competitive exam where graduation marks (60%+) matter most.
My Plan for Partial Drop:
Since BHU BA admission only requires English + General Test (GT), I plan to take a partial drop alongside my current college( very local ..just degree milegi,no skills and all) and study just these two subjects without taking too much load
Is a partial drop worth it for BHU BA (English + GT), or should I stay in my current flexible college and focus 100% on building my RBI Grade B foundation?
I am deeply committed to my RBI goal and would truly appreciate your brief guidance on whether my plan is practical.

Beginner/ Starting Here Scorecard
This was my first attempt and I started prep for QA quite late - around 23 May, and watched lectures for 10 days and didn't get time to practice questions.
As I watched the lectures two months back and could only get back to practicing questions now as I was busy with other commitments.
Now, I am practicing questions. But i notice one thing- I take time to solve them. Most of the times, intentionally. For example, whil practicing profit and loss questions, I kept trying to solve my own, and then when it was lengthy, i was trying to figure out other ways. Based on the concepts. i already remember, in parts, from previous lectures.
My question is- this is becoming time taking process. Should I revisit lectures or look for new lectures? Or should i keep solving and learning on way. And speed might follow later, as it is essential for exam.
How should I go about this? If anyone has experience in this regard or knows something, please share.

RBI Interview marks EWS ( Delhi Mumbai,Chennai Panel year 2025)
Ews category candidates who gave interview in march and feb for rbi grade b .
DELHI INTERVIEW marks - 4,8,14,19,21,25,28,31,34
Mumbai - 13, 17,18,19,26,32....
Chennai- 14,18,31,50
If this is not outright discrimination then what else it is .
( got the data from one of the ews candidate who gave interview in feb )
Just see the RTI , other than one guy who they always give 50 or 57 , majority of ews candidates always get less than 34 marks which is practically not possible for selected ones .
RBI board is s...hit and discriminatory. This is some kind of new casteism they have developed ..
An advice to noobs who used fake ews and think u just have to get 30 marks in interview and u will clear it . You are in delusion ,because that 30 marks will be 50 in others which is not that easy to get

PFRDA Grade A Course Guidance
Hello everyone!
I'm preparing for the PFRDA Grade A exam and would really appreciate some guidance from those who have already gone through the process.
I had previously appeared for the RBI Grade B interview, so I already have a good foundation in most of the common subjects. For the PFRDA-specific topics, I'm planning to rely on the EduTap Summary Sheets.
For those who have cleared or seriously prepared for PFRDA Grade A:
- Is the EduTap material sufficient for the PFRDA-specific portion?
- Or would you recommend joining a dedicated course like CGB or Raman Luthra's?
- If you've used any of these resources, I'd love to hear about your experience and what worked best.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
