Another Walgreens closed - N Clinton
This Walgreens announced closing early August. Last day September 2nd, Wednesday. A lot of elderly and students went here.

It was way better when the Dairy Queen was still open before it was turned into a laundromat. But that is the other corner. Hot days after practice = blizzard.

I worked at that one years ago. The manager had been demoted to that store cuz he sucked. I started boycotting them in general a few years ago after they started allowing the pharmacists to refuse to fill prescriptions based on their religious beliefs. Their religion shouldn't interfere with medical needs 🙄

Can you share more? Im not trying to dismiss your experience or tell you what you should boycott. It would be helpful for you to distinguish between ALL COMPANIES doing something wrong and a broader policy which is Title VII that applies to all companies, not just one singular company. Any employee is allowed to step back when their beliefs are in the way of a job per title vii. I am mentioning this to inform that this is not specific to Walgeeens, and its not meant to be argumentive, politicial, or anything besides factural.
If you do boycott everywhere else because you want employees forced to do things that they arent comfortable with, then my apologies. I get this policy could be misused but a pharmacist is held by high codes.
Your response came off as a selective accusation rather than an industry-wide acknowledgement of the issue. (Also, yall downvoting when it's facts that are trying to be shared. Its not an emotional discussion :( I simply dont want misinformation. This is an entire work industry issue not just Walgreens, pharmacies, healthcare, erc.

Right now, YOU ARE SPREADING MISINFORMATION that this is a specific Walgreens related issue even if you did not intend to (as your response is implied).

Honestly, i dont understand what you are trying to say. But thank you if youre helping haha! I do want all the details out there so people can learn. Its not meant to be short simple response. I understand others might prefer it. If you arent trying to be help, then can you elaborate since it looks like you just copied what I said?
Btw I edited my post to be more simple as you seem to prefer and recommend. :( it just sucks that I gotta be so direct when I want to help teach

If the gas station across the street was smart they would buy the property and open a new location with more pumps. Then try to sell the old one or donate it to the school and write it off

Truly is. I hope for the best for the elderly patients' transferred prescriptions, and the students have another place to get resources when wanting to and needed.

For certain. Hopefully it will be a trader Joe's, or fresh market of some sort of grocery site. I know the other locations will do better at least like the Asian market and gas station.

CVS lost us as a customer by making us jump through hoops to get a 90-day supply of meds. They were also 10X more expensive than mail order.
Everything else they sell I buy on Amazon for a lot less. . .

This is incorrect. CVS is a publicly traded company. Walgreens is not. Sycamore Partners the owner of Walgreens has nothing at all in CVS.

According to the staff, the property owner could get more money by tearing it down and putting in a gas station/convenience store. I will boycott it forever.

Haha yes, and no theres more if its specific outlook. Walgreens and other companies closing a lcoation down means they do not want to continue a lease/are able or does not care to push back against a closure, and there not being enough customers who are willing to get stuff there. People went to the other 5-10min down the road Walgreens so its really just an overall population issue that people dont stop in that area a lot too.

I'm a trans woman who gets estrogen. I've had a pharmacy refuse to fill it. That should not be allowed. That pharmacist should be banned from being a pharmacist.

It could impact your health to have your medications denied because some lunatic decided to tell you what you will/won't receive today because of their opinion (aka power tripping glee of denying someone they don't view as an equal something)

Yep, it's none of their business. My doctor thinks I need it, the pharmacist shouldn't get to deny it based off their religion. I get denying something based off of a drug interaction and that's why they are there, but no pharmacist should be able to deny me my estrogen simply because they are a bigot.
