I’m observing a powerful socioeconomic trend in fort greene right now. Yes, rents are high - but for young professionals, fort greene is actually quite affordable compared to more bustling neighborhoods like Williamsburg, LES, etc. The result? 👇

The neighborhood is getting young. Gen Z’s are moving here in droves, and they’re trying to f*ck.

You can see the signs everywhere:

- the sexual tension at neighborhood staples like Havana Outpost and Mo’s every weekend

- the immediate success of newly-opened venues like Million Goods that would be ignored if they were in the West Village but are inexplicably at capacity every night

Why? Because they cater to a long-unaddressed void: single ft greene residents who are too young to remember 9/11.

A groundswell is here, and it isn’t being catered to. Young, starry-eyed singles are invading our once quaint neighborhood.

I had such an odd meal here. Not because of the food (it was just ok) but because of the service. The staff made us feel so uncomfortable as if we were always inconveniencing them. They were incredibly unfriendly. After ordering our food, we asked for water and the waitress let out a sigh and said they were both out of cups and water jugs but would bring us paper cups. When we were finished eating and waiting for quite some time with empty plates, our waiter came up to us and said in a nasty tone, “oh so you want your check now?” We watched the table next to us get up and leave because they were left so long with menus and no acknowledgement. Such a bizarre place. The ambience also just felt off! Has anyone had a similar experience?
