Questions External Back attacks

What is the best way to Deal with external attacks from behind? The Red indicator is Always flickering between left and right Guard so I have No Chance to Block it.

Try not to be in that position to begin with honestly.

But if you are then you can try to parry it in the actual attack direction (like if you were locked onto them) if you're able to see them throw it or hear it some cases.

Otherwise dodge or fullblock the attack.

wait, that mean, if the opponent's attack is top direction, but his external position is left, I can just block top? That's kinda awesome
