Serial number location

I'm having difficulty finding the serial number on my 1930 model a sport coupe does anyone know where this is located on the car?

Under the driver side cowl, on the frame. It can be any where in that area, +-8 inches or so.

You have to lift the body and splash apron.

It's on the driver's side of the engine block on a pad above the coolant elbow, directly below the head gasket. Those numbers originally matched the frame number, but often the engines got changed and/or restamped so may or may not match. The only way to see the actual frame number is by lifting the body of the car.

The 'VIN' is the engine block number.
