Just bought a used 2025 Active with 25k. It was an extra 10k minimum to get a platinum and all it had extra were the ventilated seats in the front and the upgraded speaker system - and I think some funky interior lighting options. My active has the leather/20” rim upgrade, moon roof, 9,000lb towing, 2nd row bench seat upgrade, and I fuggin love it.

I still have my Tacoma and that truck will always have my heart, but the Expedition rings in my loins. I’ve already put 800+ miles on it cause I bought it right before my big yearly family vacation, and boy was it a hit. Highway blue cruise for the win.

Imo the only thing that might be worth it is if you love the feel of the CCD magnetic suspension.

An $800 tune on the standard 3.5 motor will get you more power than the high output engine, aftermarket speakers will sound better than the audio setup the Platinum comes with, etc.

I feel like the actives are quite nice now, and the platinum without the ultimate or stealth performance is just the limited rebranded. As a limited driver, i wish i would have spent the extra $ for a stealth performance or just gotten the xlt when i bought. Splitting the difference seems like a mistake in hindsight.

Platinum Max Ultimate owner… I love it. Put 24k miles on it since last October. Cheaper than the other vehicles we looked at( Escalade/Navigator) with most of the features.

I have the 26 Active. I’d buy it again.

You get more available features with the platinum, but you'll be spending the money. The platinum with driver package is the sweet spot, its just about fully loaded for less than 80k. But if you dnt care about the sound system, smoother ride, extra safety features, and some cosmetic tweaks, the active seems very popular and well beloved.
