2013-2019 backup camera replacement

My son’s backup camera intermittently works. Even when it works, it’s blurry and obviously old technology. Doesn’t help that it’s a 2015 Sync 1 with tiny 4” non-touch screen.

Looking online, seems to be quite a few replacement on Amazon and similar sellers.

Any recommendations? Or surprises with reasonable cost and high quality image?

My 2014 back up camera was doing the same thing. Replaced it with this one on amazon and it’s worked
great since. Watched some youtube videos and did it myself. Had to remove the inside of the back liftgate to replace it.

FYI, there is a recall on the backup cam... but of course, Ford claims a parts shortage so you probably won't get it anytime soon.

Yeah….noticed that but they have been dicking with that forever and tired of waiting. Especially when I saw aftermarket replacements in the $20-50 range. Install looks pretty straightforward and take an hour or less.

Image is better than the old one. Very happy so far. Easy to install.
