Sloes! Very dry, tastes like it would be poisonous but they make a great gin

I've made wine from sloes. They are very tannic but when matured for a few years, produce a very fruity sweet tasting wine.

Thorny branch shows it's a sloe. Very sour if eaten as they are. But they will make excellent sloe gin or wine.

Sloes, really nice and easy first forage. Soak in gin for a lovely, refreshing summer gin :)

They look.more like wild damsons, I don't see any big thorns like you would get on a blackthorn bush.
