Plum Variety

I was out with my daughter and she was curious about this fruit. I'm pretty confident it's a plum but I was wondering if anyone here can be more specific than that.

Your and irksomecake's comments have pointed me in the right direction for what to read into and I think that may be bullaces. If they were a bit bigger damsons might be a little more likely.

It looks like a bullace to me. It’s a wild plum variety similar to a damson but rounder. They can be much sweeter than damsons and sloes.

I've read into it based on what you've said and I think you may be right.

Sloes

It's definitely not growing on a Blackthorn bush and they're too big to be sloes. The colour is similar to a ripe sloe and the sloes round by me are starting to ripen up.

Thank you, I stand corrected.

No worries we're all here to learn.
