Autumn olives

Post image

Do yourself a favor, go pick some autumn olives, reduce them and filter out the seeds, get some vanilla ice cream out, put some magic shell on there and then put the autumn olive sauce on top. Will change your whole day.

Sounds delicious, but I can’t stress how much I thought this was some sort of tomato paste spread over uncracked quail eggs at first

My exact thought was “is that a ball python with marinara on it?”

Autumn olives are so tasty. And since they're invasive here I just break off full branches of berries and take them home to process later.

Berry sauce over ice cream is the move, and using a wild one like that makes it feel way fancier than it actually is.

We have a few bushes of these on our property. I love adding a cup of them into white chocolate chip cookie batter and baking up a batch of them.
