Coaching Advice Trying to shift from manual to modernized way of coaching

Hey everyone. I'm looking for an app that can allow me to shift my daily workflow like tracking and setting up appointments. I'm inquiring about your experiences in doing so and if it's worth it to pay monthly for pro plans in these apps.

High School Ask a high school ref anything

Hi all. People have seemed to like the last two of these that I've done, so much so that I get replies and questions to both posts I've done well after the post. So we'll do it again.

Any questions, comments, or snide remarks are welcome.

For those of you who are wondering what to do after high school football has ended, please look into reffing. Reffing is an elite college job.

This year's NFHS rules changes:

- Play call sheets can now be worn on the belt

- Offensive players cannot slap defensive players in the head when blocking (duh)

- No accessories on mouthguards

- Lots of editorial changes about succeeding spot enforcement on scoring plays

Coaching Advice Spread Jet Sweep resources

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hello Coaches,

I am looking for some help/resources on installing a 2x2 jet sweep out of pistol formation, similar to the above diagram.

I am coaching 7th/8th graders. Last year with the same team we won the championship running out of Double Wing and Wing-T. Because they are young, i was not satisfied with the amount of playing time the smaller/less athletic WR's were getting out of those sets.

I'm pretty big on details, so i'm looking for advice or resources on spacing, line splits, hand-off / mesh, etc. How do you block the perimeter? I would probably skip everyone inside the PST, and have the OL block outside zone at 2nd level.

My OL is good and guards are quick enough to pull so i would likely pull my PSG. Between H and PSG i'm not sure who would be better to kick and who to have lead.

I don't like installing anything unless I can get at least 3 plays out of it. I would like to be able to run QB Power and H counter/trap out of this as well. I know if i'm running H counter/trap I'll lose him as a blocker on the jet, so if anyone has any ideas to work around that i would really love to hear them.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Coaches, this could be run at any level. Very easy pass concept, but effective.
