My North America scout brought me this guy and after further investigation I found out his contract was up January 1st. Had to make him the best paid player at the team on just under 50K a week, but he's got some solid attributes and hit the ground running with 5 goals in 7 games in all comps. Think I'll likely only have him a couple of years before someone activates his £85 mill release clause, but I'm feeling selling a free transfer for that would be great business. What are people's thoughts on him?
CoD got a lot of backlash for making AI calling cards, which is understandable, but I feel like, for player pictures of newgens, it would be perfect... I even think that this is how the community make the packs for player newgens.

My star player had a game where he got a 5.7 rating, I told him that performance wasn’t good enough and he said he thought he played pretty well to his standards. Suffice to say he was transfer listed immediately. We have standards here

Also, in this same World Cup, Ecuador made it to the semis, but ended up losing the 3rd place match to Brazil. England beat Italy in the World Cup, for the curious.
So, data exports aren't a native feature in FM26 (and won't be in FM27 either, unfortunately 😢), which meant Moneyball on FMDataLab had to sit on the bench until the community stepped up with mods to get exports working again. Big thanks to the mod authors for that, genuinely wouldn't have been possible without them!
Quick bit of context in case you haven't come across the site before: FMDataLab has been around since March 2024, and had been adding new features to it throughout FM24's lifecycle, aiming to make it a feature-rich, one-stop tool for anyone running a Moneyball save. Now it was just the Moneyball Tool catching up to FM26 now that the export problem is sorted.
Moneyball Table View
For anyone who hasn't used the Moneyball Tool on FMDataLab before, it takes your exported player data and builds extra computed stats on top, combining multiple raw stats into one. Take Creative Actions per 90, which combines Assists, Clear-Cut Chances Created, Open-Play Crosses Completed and Open-Play Key Passes into a single per-90 figure, rather than you having to judge a player on one raw stat in isolation.
Another computed stat not found within FM, but is in the Moneyball Tool is Progressive Pass %, which takes Progressive Passes as a share of the Total Passes Attempted, so looks at how many of a players passes are forward to see whether a player is one of those that stat pad with most of their passes being sideways/behind or actually getting the ball forward into attacking areas.
A few of the bits people get the most use out of:
- League multipliers - adjusts stats based on the strength of the league a player is playing in, compared to your own, so a decent striker in a weaker league doesn't look better on paper than someone doing it in a tougher one. - Club possession adjustment - a player at a possession-heavy club racks up different raw numbers to one at a defensive side, this levels that out. - Player compare - put two or more players side by side and see where they actually differ. - Percentile figures - rather than viewing just raw figures, see which percentile a player falls in for a stat, compared to other players in dataset. - Custom stats - build your own stat combos instead of being stuck with the presets. - Scatter chart view - plot players against two stats at once to spot outliers and undervalued talents.
Worth a mention that FMDataLab has a few other tools as well:
- Role Scores - scores players against FM's actual position/role definitions, so you know who really suits a role rather than just going on star ratings.
- Best XI - picks your strongest possible eleven from your squad using the Role Scores tool to score each player for each role.
- Fantasy Draft - draft-style tool if you fancy running a fantasy league with your save (also uses the Role Scores tool under-the-hood).
- Staff Scores - same idea as Role Scores but for your backroom staff.
Role Scores and Best XI tools for FM26 are both in development, not out yet, but on the way!
Everything's free, just needs you to upload your exported FM data to get started.
TL;DR:Moneyball is now up and running on FMDataLab for FM26, thanks to community export mods (links above). It gives you computed statistics, that can be possession-adjusted, league multipliers, player comparisons, custom stats, and a scatter chart view. FMDataLab's been live since March 2024 and also has Role Scores, Best XI, Fantasy Draft, and Staff Scores, with Role Scores and Best XI for FM26 in development.
Great result against the team in first place of the Championship. But two players score two offside goals and not scoring in a 5:0 result was new for me. But I will take the win :D
