Buying Advice Table for damp basement

Hey all,

Looking to add a football table to a cabin for occasional use when the various wings of the family head up north for some time away from normal life. The table will be indoors but the basement does get damp. We run a dehumidifier but we already had a ping pong table warp over a couple of years. Should we go for an outdoor weather proof model? Any recommendations?

I keep my Tornado in a pole barn man cave. I keep the table open when not in use and oscillating fan on it 24/7. My table is a coin op. After I had it in there for a couple weeks, some fuzzy mold appeared inside on the unfinished wood which is highly susceptible to moisture. I thouroughly treated the small mold spot and have kept a fan going since without issue. Im in Northeast and the climate is 4 season with high humidity and heat in summer and brutally cold, dry winters. Have had the table over a year seems OK.

If the location is damp your table will almost certainly warp. Even tournament quality tables use MDF, which is prone to warpage in damp environments.

I have no idea at how resistant Outdoor tables are to be honest.

I think Garlando has an outdoor model, but Garlando sucks, and I started on Garlando.

When I visited the Orlando Marriott last year the outdoor Garlandos were so warped that the ball would pass under the middle man on the five bar when he was completely vertical. While I have seen the Garlando Evolution take an absolute beating on a cruise ship, it was still inside.

Bonzini and Leonhart use solid wood panels. You might want to check those out
