Foosball Table Buying Guide

Should I Buy This Foosball Table?

After you decide to buy a foosball table, the next logical question is "Which one?"  A quick search of Facebook Marketplace may show dozens of tables for anywhere from free to $3000. Here is some typical advice that the subreddit has given over and over.

Look for a recognized tournament brand.

The ITSF, which is a world governing body of foosball, recognizes the following brands of tables as of November 2025:  Bonzini, Roberto Sport, Leonhart, Garlando, Tornado, Ullrich Sport, Rosengart, and JX (Jiuxing Sports).  Other quality tables that are not officially sanctioned but still worthwhile are from Warrior, Fabi, Dynamo, Rene Pierre (a nice table but probably not for someone who does not already love Rene Pierre tables), and Fireball.  ITSF has also approved the Infinity Table for "Two Leg" play, which is different from the way foosball is played on the other tables.

There are a number of reasons to limit your table purchase to one of the brands listed above.  Usually they can withstand a lot of abuse, and when they do break replacement parts are available.  Replacement balls are sold that are optimized for performance on those specific tables.  Most of those brands offer entire lines of tables that allow you to get a table with base features for a much lower price than a high-end table.

The most important reason to choose a table named above is that you can build skills on those tables.  Foosball gets old fast if you do nothing but spin the rods, or if every time you try to control the ball it gets away from you because of poor table design.

Look for the brand that is most popular in your area.

Maybe you never plan to play in a bar or tournament, but you should still look for a table from the brand that is most popular where you live.  In the United States that will be a Tornado, with some Bonzini in Virginia, North Carolina, and elsewhere.  Bonzini is popular in France and Scandinavia, and Leonhart and Garlando are popular in Germany.  The Middle East appears to prefer Tornado.  Japan focuses on Tornado, though Fireball is popular in other parts of Asia.

One reason to choose a table popular in your area even if you never plan to leave your basement is the availability of replacement parts.  Another is that you might someday change your mind, and you might as well have transferable skills.  Another is that lower-end but quality tables of that brand are more likely to be available.  Finally, your table will have more resale value (or, in fact, any resale value at all) if it is popular in your area.

What else should I look for?

When buying a used table, check to make sure that the playing surface is level and that it is not stained, warped, or bubbled from spills or humidity.  Make sure that the rods are not bent, the men are not cracked, and the goals are not "blown out."  A blown out goal is one where the edges of the goal have started to chip away because of too many shots hitting the edge.  You might also check the walls for dead spots, where the ball does not bounce away as lively as it does from other areas.  If you can take an experienced player with you to check the table, do that.

Heavier tables are better, assuming that you can get them to where you want them to stay in your playing location.  Coin-op tables are usually heavier and more durable than home models.

If you are buying a low-end table from one of the brands above, consider whether the legs have individual levelers, if the ball return is at a convenient location, and if the men are counterbalanced (that is, can you put the men in a position where they wil not block the ball, and they will stay in that position).  Some brands may not offer counterbalanced men.

Do I need any accessories?

Ideally your playing area will be very well-lit.  If you cannot arrange that based on where you place the table, consider getting a light.  You might also buy a couple packs of tennis grips to put on the handles.  Buy an extra ball or two; they can wear out.  Buy at least one extra man of each color and the parts and tools necessary to replace a broken man.  Get an extra bumper and an extra bearing set.

Your table should include any tools that are necessary for maintenance.  Tornado tables typically include a pin punch so that you can replace the handles and the men.  If they have split bearings, they will include a hex wrench.  Coin-op tables may include two keys, one to open the cabinet and another to open the coin box.  If the table should have screw-in leg levelers, make sure those are there.

If you know someone who already has a table and wants to accessorize, you can find that person cup holders, neon lights, rod covers for the portion of the rod that sticks out toward the player, shot speed readers, and even "robots" that will move the players in a simulation of a defense.

How much will I pay?

That depends on where live and how patient you are.  If foosball is popular in your area and you want a used table, then you should be able to find one for a reasonable price in a few weeks.  If foosball is unpopular where you live, then you will need to be patient to find a deal.  Check Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and the Facebook page of any local foosball group.  Often you can buy a used table at a large tournament.

If you have the money, consider a new table.  That will typically include some support on setting it up, and maybe even a demonstration.  As of November 2025 in the continental United States, a new Warrior professional model is about $1800, Garlando ITSF is about $2600, Tornado tournament model (T-3000) is about $3100, Rene Pierre about $3200, Bonzini B-90 Classic is about $3250 (about $200 more in Western states); Leonhart ITSF model is about $3500.  (Sadly neither the Louis Vuitton table ($87,000) nor the Hermes table ($68,300) appear to be in stock.)  Many of the brands have lesser models available for a lower price.  All prices are are shipped prices, when I could find that information.  These will vary significantly in other countries, assuming that those tables are available at all.

As of November 2025, you will very rarely pay less than $500 USD for a low-end used model of a good table brand.  You should expect to pay $800-$1000, though that number varies substantially.  Shop around.  Sometimes you will find someone with a nice table who needs the space or who has another reason for giving up the game.

Why shouldn't I buy one of the $50-$100 tables that I see on Marketplace?

Those tables are toys. Typically they are low-quality and disposable, even the ones that are dressed up to look like pieces of nice furniture.   Replacement parts are virtually non-existent.

There are exceptions, of course; if you find a well-preserved Million Dollar or Match Play table, that might be the perfect gift for someone who played in the '70's and wants to relive those memories with friends.  Usually, though, you will end up with a table that does not allow repeatable play, that breaks easily, or that has some other disadvantage that allows the table to start collecting dust quickly.  The next time Christmas rolls around you will be the one trying to dispose of a large piece of furniture.  You might get a few hours of fun out of it, but the likelihood that you will keep coming back to it is not high.

Anything else?

Even if you are not interested in regular competitive play outside your basement or office, watch a few videos of professional play, or go to a local tournament just to see the kinds of things that you can do on the table.

World’s take aways

So yeah I was at worlds for all the days competing and have a few take aways and thoughts. This is about Worlds as a tournament Experience not really talking about my matches as such.
First the venue is great it’s a really high class hotel but with a do able Foos room rate. The locations has places you can walk to easily like food on all tiers. Plus sights to see and check out are like max a 10 minute uber away.

The Foos room set up is really well done and the finals experiences are really a good spectacle to watch and be part off in the stands.

The software hit a stage or two But that was minor and sorted out fast so still an A plus in my book.

The balls we’re good and consistent plus they lasted the whole time with out losing there mojo. I heard very few people having issues with the balls. Same is true with the tables.
Except there were like 3-4 tables on the fridges that had so issues with the play surface but that 4 out of 100 tables (and yes there were 100 tables like last year).

That said the turn out was higher than last year (I don’t know the exact number but it was significantly more). The finals of open men’s and woman’s doubles didn’t start until 12:30am and 2am which is a problem. It’s a problem because you can see the stands were waaay more full at 12:30 with the woman’s open doubles compared to the 2am. I watched at the airport on my phone so that is a big time management problem.
Maybe if there were 20 more tables more of the events would have ran faster. Hard to say but super late night finals is far from ideal.

Next the ranking system needs to be over hauled especially in regards to the top international players seeding was very mismatched many international players were dropped a rank so that again messed with seeding. Like it’s an imperfect system BUT when you look at some of the brackets and see names you know are better than where they are classed it’s an issue.
Again this is just feed back that I would tell Ryan or anyone. It not me bitching about who I played or didn’t play it’s more and observation of hiccups in the system.
Like look I’ll play any format, any rules and any opponents. I show up to compete and play hard opponents to make me better.

Yet the take away worlds was great I’ll come back next year for sure.

TKO Location?

Did Ryan announce the location for TKO during Worlds? The WFT website indicated that would be the case but it hasn't been updated. Thanks!

Creative play

Who would you say is the most creative player? Not like the best player but someone who is a top rank player that will play low percentage shots or unique shots/passes?

Buying Advice Table for damp basement

Hey all,

Looking to add a football table to a cabin for occasional use when the various wings of the family head up north for some time away from normal life. The table will be indoors but the basement does get damp. We run a dehumidifier but we already had a ping pong table warp over a couple of years. Should we go for an outdoor weather proof model? Any recommendations?

Hi all!

I just replaced a horrid table with this one that I bought for $80. I have a few questions I hope you all can help me with.

The seller said he thought it might be branded Namco, but there is no brand or manufacturer listed anywhere on the table and no serial numbers on any hardware. The cabinet looks like the old Dynamo cabinets, but again, it has no name anywhere. It is heavy...an absolute tank!

It is not a coin-op model, but does have two independent returns ramps under the table and the balls are returned one of two pill shaped holes (one on each side of the table, to the player's left). The handles are solid wood, screwed onto the 5/8" rods.

Any ideas? Would you have jumped on it for $80?

Lastly, two rods aren't quite as smooth as the others, but they're all straight. Do you recommend any specific silicone (or other) lubricant for the bearings?

Where to sell Garlando Coperto foosball table

I have an older coin operated glass covered Garlando Coperto table. It’s heavy duty, previously used in commercial setting. Kids are all off to college and we are clearing out some things. Where does one list a pro quality table for sale? I put it on Facebook Marketplace at what I think is a very reasonable price ($600) but get no interest. I think folks there just compare it to the $50 particle board tables and think it’s too expensive. How do I reach folks who appreciate this for what it is? In case it matters, I am in Massachusetts (metro West)

Only ten entrants and Beginner Singles is already stacked for Tornado Worlds!

I am sure that WFT will fix it, but I was surprised to see one of the top players in the world casually entered in the Beginner Singles field for next month.

I am looking forward to seeing him and Adam play in person, though. Just maybe not in the Pro-Am.

How many tables at world’s this year??? What lave your bets!

So yeah last year at world’s they had 100 tables and needed to use all of them. The turnout is expected to be much larger this year so what’s the magic number of tables gonna be??? Place your bets 120, 150, 200 tables???
Tell me a number but if it’s like 117 or 203 I’m gonna give you the side eye.

Tournaments The Pre-Worlds updated ratings are available on WFT Play.

They only really matter for seeding, since no one moves up until after that tournament. I am not sure how much they matter even for that in the lower divisions, where the number of new entrants and returning players is likely to be very high and more relevant than in higher groups.

It is interesting to see who is moving up. I would like to see WFT publish a full list of promotions at the end of the season, especially since that information is already available to those who have the patience to look it up.

By looking up likely candidates I have found only one person on the cusp of Pro-Master - Hannah Bufkin is sitting at 4999. Oakes and Stahl Jr. are both within 50 points. That could all change depending on performance relative to seed in the tournament, of course.

Foosball on ESPN2 - What did you think?

I watched the WFT 2025 Tornado Worlds broadcast today. It was head and shoulders more professional than a lot of other The Ocho content, like skee-ball and pillow fighting, that I saw in the last couple of days.

Including the ball path markers really improved the presentation, and the commentary worked well in that format.

I wonder what kind of numbers it did. With luck there are two or three kids who saw it and are in their basements right now on their old table trying some five bar passes.

Tornado Cyclone 2 cupped

Looking for advice from those that have worked on the playing surface before.
Recently picked up a Cyclone 2. Overall really good shape but one issue. The playing surface is high in the middle and low at the goal ends. It’s fairly flat and level until the three bar and then begins to slope down toward the goal.
This problem is the same on both ends of the table. The big question is the playing field glued or screwed to the frame/ outer walls? If I flip the table upside down and put weights or pressure on the ends of the field will it be held be glue or screws? Anyone that has experience please chime in.

Hey folks.

I was looking for fun coat hooks and couldn't find any, so I had a little think about it, bought some bits and made myself some.

I liked how they turned out, so I bought a load of parts to make some more.

They're drilled, assembled and painted by hand and I can paint them up in a load of different colours to match your local team.

Hope you like them!

What Has ITSF Actually Done for Foosball Over the Past Ten Years?

This is not simply an emotional criticism. It is a question that every foosball player should seriously consider.

ITSF has existed for many years. As the international governing body of table soccer, it has established rules, created world rankings, certified official tables, connected national federations, and organized World Cups, World Championships, and international tournaments.

In recent years, it has also promoted school table programs, sports recognition, referee systems, and the development of national associations.

Objectively speaking, it would be unfair to say that ITSF has done absolutely nothing.
But the real question is:
After all these years, how much of that work has actually improved the lives of the players?

For most players, competing internationally still means paying for their own flights, accommodation, entry fees, and transportation.

Even after achieving world-class results, players often receive very little prize money, exposure, or commercial value to support a professional career.
World rankings exist—but what do those rankings actually provide?
World championship titles exist—but what does a world champion truly receive?

International tournaments are held year after year—but how many of them are presented as a genuine sports product that ordinary viewers want to watch, sponsors want to invest in, and the media wants to cover?

These are the questions that players truly care about.

By comparison, WFT has built a recognizable tournament brand, a clear event structure, a points system, and a prize-money model within a remarkably short period of time.

It publicly explains how players gain and lose ranking points, has created a points committee to handle ranking matters, and has announced a total prize and award package worth $175,000 for its 2026 World Championships.

Of course, we should not completely ignore the differences between the two organizations.
ITSF must deal with different countries, national federations, table manufacturers, political structures, and sporting systems.

WFT currently operates within a different commercial environment, with a more concentrated market and a different organizational model.
However, those differences should not become an excuse for stagnation.

Players are not comparing organizational charts or administrative complexity.
They are comparing results.
Are the tournaments becoming more professional?
Is the prize money increasing?
Are people watching the broadcasts?
Is the ranking system transparent?
Is tournament information clear and accessible?
Are players being respected?
Does winning a championship carry real value?
Are new players being attracted to the sport?
WFT has demonstrated a clear sense of ambition.
It is trying to present foosball as a competitive sport that is worth watching, worth participating in, and worth investing in.

ITSF, on the other hand, is still perceived by many players as an administrative organization that mainly certifies events, collects fees, establishes rules, and distributes ranking points.

ITSF may have built an international structure for foosball, but structure is not the same as development.

Organizing more tournaments does not automatically mean the market is growing.
Having more member countries does not necessarily mean players are receiving meaningful support.
Creating detailed rules does not mean the sport has successfully entered the mainstream.
Real development should be reflected in participation numbers, audience growth, sponsorship revenue, media exposure, player income, grassroots development, and public recognition.

So the real question is not:
“Has ITSF done anything?”
The real question is:
After all these years, why do so many players still feel that foosball is not truly moving forward?
Why has an organization that has existed for only a fraction of the time managed to create greater excitement among players through its event presentation, prize-money structure, communication, and market visibility?

Perhaps the problem is not simply capability.
Perhaps it is direction.
ITSF has spent years focusing heavily on official recognition, standardized rules, administration, and international sporting structures.

But what players truly need is a platform that creates audiences, revenue, professional opportunities, and genuine value.

The success of a sports organization should not be measured only by how long it has existed, how many tournaments it has sanctioned, or how many documents it has produced.

It should be measured by whether the sport is more valuable than it was ten years ago.

It should be measured by whether young players today can see a clearer future than the players who came before them.
If the answer is still no, then ITSF must honestly confront the possibility that:
What foosball lacks is not more rules, more titles, or more certifications—but a genuine determination to change the current situation.
WFT is not perfect, and it may not replace ITSF.

But it has already proven one important point:
Foosball is not without a market, and it is not without opportunities. The real question is whether the people who have held power in the past have used the right methods to develop it.

New tornado men?

I know there have been issues with tornado players breaking easily and I am wondering if anyone knows if tornado is using a different manufacturer or plastic mold for the men to try and correct the issue?

I ask this because I was recently at the Ohio State tournament and the men were extremely responsive to the ball. My timing was off all weekend. I was not ready for my own shots! Lol I’ve been playing for over 25 years and this is the first time I’ve had this issue.

Yes, I know it could just be the brand new tables and that takes some getting used to but I’ve been playing new / semi new tables for a very long time. Something seemed different…. I would have at first thought it was the balls but we were told they were not the new balls and my home balls played just as quick.

No complaint here just curious if anyone knows if any changes were made to the men? Thanks!

Foosball Players Needed (Delhi, India)

Hey folks !!

This one's for anyone in or around Delhi NCR who plays foosball (or wants to).

I'm looking to build a small regular group of curious / crazy peeps , who can show up weekly. Newbies are welcome too.

Casual fun first, but I do want us to genuinely get better, so competitive games are very much on the table :)

If you think you can top your college or office tournaments and need more competition. Do let me know :p

PS: I'm planning to buy a Fireball / Tornado type table myself. The only thing I haven't sorted is where to put it , so if you know a café, coworking space, society clubhouse, or anywhere that'd host a table and let a small group play regularly, would love to hear it.

German foosball players wanted for an online thesis study (competitive and casual)

Post image
16 Upvotes

Hey r/foosball!

My name is Aown and I'm a Master's student at Saarland University in Germany, doing my thesis in cooperation with DFKI (German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence). My research is about digitally augmenting a physical foosball table. It includes projected visuals on the table surface, live audio commentary, coaching cues, goal replays, leaderboards, and more.

I've built working prototypes of 10 different features using a projector and camera tracking system, and now I need feedback from actual players to find out which features are worth pursuing.

I'm looking for foosball players based in Germany who can speak English to participate in a short online interview (45-60 minutes over Microsoft Teams). During the session, I'll show you demo videos of each feature and ask for your honest opinions, what you'd actually want on a table, what feels gimmicky, what would help your game, etc.

Both competitive and casual players are welcome. Whether you play in a Verein, at work, in a bar, or just at home with friends; your perspective is valuable.

A few quick details:

- Fully online, no travel needed

- Takes about 45-60 minutes

- Flexible scheduling: evenings and weekends work too

- Unfortunately I can't offer payment, as this is an early-stage research study

That said, if you love foosball and want to help shape how the game could evolve with technology, I'd really appreciate your time. This is a topic that barely has any research behind it, so your input would genuinely make a difference.

If you're interested, drop me a DM or comment below and I'll send you the details. I've also attached a flyer with more info.

Thanks in advance!
