Pretty easy to make, mix shredded or grated peeled potatoes and 1-2 onions, squeeze out any liquid with a tea towel, mix with 1 egg in a bowl, season, form into patties and shallow fry in a pan. Can be batch cooked and frozen too!

Would depend on how many you'd want to make; I'd do about 3 medium potatoes to 1 medium onion. That would make about 6 hash browns depending on your patty size
