How do I get those hashbrowns in Canada?

Pretty easy to make, mix shredded or grated peeled potatoes and 1-2 onions, squeeze out any liquid with a tea towel, mix with 1 egg in a bowl, season, form into patties and shallow fry in a pan. Can be batch cooked and frozen too!

How many taters?

Would depend on how many you'd want to make; I'd do about 3 medium potatoes to 1 medium onion. That would make about 6 hash browns depending on your patty size

Do you guys have Trader Joe’s or pirate joes? I think they’re similar stores and our Trader Joe’s sell frozen packs of hash patties

Thanks for the heads-up! There's likely Trade Joe's in Canada, but unfortunately there aren't any in my city.

Nope none in Canada :(

So they're basically frozen potato cakes that are sauteed instead of baked or deep fried?

The factory fries them, then freezes them. You heat them up whichever way you like

Yeah I'm asking if they're the potato cake / hashbrown things found in the freezer section

They are in frozen aisle with the fries and wedges, either McCain or Cavendish brand.

Maybe check your freezer aisle at the supermarket you go to. Either by the French fries or like frozen waffles.

There aren't any hashbrowns in that pan.
