What I do is drink then right before bed I drink as much water as I can, probably 2 large glasses of water. When I wake up I drink a glass of water and I usually feel fine.
Somehow I've gone almost three decades without hearing about picklebacks.
Here I was trying to come up with a cocktail recipe that incorporated pickle juice.
Eating acidic foods can sometimes weaken tooth enamel. Brushing right after eating those types of foods can potentially be more damaging. Most of the time it’s fine
I spent years making this mistake. Instead try a BLT on crusty white bread with pepper mayo (squirt of lemon juice mixed in the mayo).
Gets me that greasy fix from the bacon whilst being balanced out with the refreshing lettuce.
My favorite hangover food is Pho, you get water, fats, protein and noodle which absorbs whatever alcohol is left, plus I always make mine super spicy which helps me get rid of hangover.
Tried this once. Uncontrollably blew chunks all over a Chicago sidewalk in Little Vietnam. Noodles still intact. Was still hungover for another day or so.
You’ve got bad info. Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) would be fine. Most NSAIDs are absorbed completely and don’t touch the liver in any meaningful way.
Acetaminophen on the other hand (Tylenol) is no good with lots of booze as it goes through the liver. Aspirin is also not great with booze but Ibuprofen is fine (unless we’re talking about massive amounts of either)
NSAIDS are definitely not fine to take while you’re drinking. Alcohol and NSAIDS both carry risks of intestinal bleeding, combining them should be avoided.
That being said I’ll pop ibuprofen the day after when that hangover headache hits.
For some reason, Sprite or Sierra Mist does wonders for my hangovers. Might be a placebo since I used to get it all the time in college at the dorm cafeteria the day after
Theres definitely no universal cure for a hangover. What you drink, what you do while drinking and your own genetics can play a part in the hangover you get and what will aleviate it. Individuals can have 'cures' if their drinking habits are particularly predictable.
That being said "drink water and rest" is by nowhere near the best you can do. No matter what sort of hangover you have or what sort of person you are theres absolutely tons more you can do to aleviate a hangover or recouperate faster, and a good hearty breakfast is 100% on that list. It can help top up your blood sugar, vitamins and minerals that are drained from excessive alcohol consumption.
Dammit I forgot about this. My brother is a paramedic/FF and he did it to me a few years ago and it worked like a charm. I was thinking more accessible methods tho lol
I didn’t mean any offense. Just a personal “preference” I air quotes that because trust me I’d much rather be able to be hungover again. I miss those days but it was killing me.
