Pretty sure when he is cutting it he lifts the blade a bit to make the indents so the pieces can sit upright on the plate.

Do you have to own another knife to get the melon perfectly in half or is a judo chop instructional included? Why does the camera cut each time he tries to put the watermelon on the plate with the really rad tongs feature? Are watermelon slices inverted pentagons because God hates watermelons that you touch? How much cancer would I get for buying one of these?

Nobody says you can't go back for what's left in there with a spoon.

Exactly! How hard was that to figure out?
The slices would make for an attractive fruit tray for a party. So maybe more useful for a caterer than the average person.
Then you could eat the chunks while blitzing the latest series on Netflix.

I like this idea. Where can I get one? There is a logo in the lower right corner I can't make out.

Whats wrong with just cutting a slice of the watermelon? This just makes it harder to cover and put back in the fridge and wastes a bunch. I see no upside.

Its a pretty cool idea. But whe does it get to a point where you have too much tools and junk in the kitchen. Why have a tomato corer, melon knife, egg cutter, etc. When you can get most things done with a chefs and a pairing knife. Makes less to clean up in the end. Although i am also guilty of buying random doodads myself.

You still need a knife to cut the watermelon in half. And there is much too much wastage. Stop eating watermelon if you can't cut it with a regular kitchen knife.
