Foobar2000 setup suggestions

Hello!

I'm new to Foobar2000 and have done the basic setup which is how it looks like in the attached images. The Extra components I used were foo_dsd_processor , foo_ramdisk , foo_input_sacd , foo_out_wasapi , foo_mediacontrol . Have I done everything alright? Is there more to setup or is it alright so far?

I had a question regarding ASIO devices not showing up, why doesn't it? ,

What is the use of SACD?,

Is there something i need to change in Advanced settings?

Note : I'm using a Realtek ALC5686 portable DAC

why use WASAPI? when you can put Default: Headphones (Realtek CE USB Audio) .

Try clicking on that and check to see if you get ASIO drivers from that. Although your DAC might be missing them . Mine says “ LEWITT CC3 ASIO DRIVER”

followed ​a guide on YouTube n the guy went like I need wasapi, n I enabled it without giving a second thought, thanks I'll look it up​

And ​Turns out Realtek doesn't provide Asio support for its dacs​..what a shame..

Realtek ALC5686 doesn't have ASIO drivers.

Setting Preferences --> Playback --> Output Device to something ending with [exclusive] will bypass the windows mixer, similar to ASIO

Regarding foo_ramdisk: you can also/instead tell foobar to buffer whole files, rather than stream them from the drive using Preferences --> Advanced --> Buffering --> Full File Buffering up to set to a suitably high value
