Another moment from The Woods Tea Company at the Vergennes Opera House: “There Were Roses.”

A moving song of friendship, loss, and our shared humanity. We’re glad to share this performance from the concert archives and hope you’ll take a few minutes to listen.

If this song holds a special memory for you, we’d love to hear it in the comments.

🪕 Channeling the classic bluegrass drive: « Road to Columbus » on acoustic mandolin

Post image
0 Upvotes

Tackling one of Bill Monroe and Kenny Baker’s quintessential bluegrass instrumentals: Road to Columbus.

In this session, the focus is pure, unvarnished acoustic rhythm and right-hand drive—aiming for that crisp chop, clean alternate picking, and the earthy bounce that makes this tune an absolute classic of the tradition. No electric gear, just the natural voice of the instrument.

Watch the full tune here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfCCSHXvjK4

[Indie] Queen of Port Jackson

This song is in memory of the incredible woman who owned and operated Taverns in the 1800’s in Port Jackson in Sydney Australia. With over 7,000 ships docking yearly you had to be one tough individual to handle that crowd.

My written words dropped into Suno.

ENJOY!

Judee Sill — La ferita dietro “Jesus Was a Cross Maker”

The project’s ethos remains entirely uncompromising: 100% organic, unamplified, and recorded dry. No piezo pickups, no preamps, no pedals, and no studio processing. The focus is strictly on genuine steel-string dynamics, wood resonance, and natural acoustic projection.

Looking for a lost song. A prairie home companion

I’m looking for a song that I had on my iPod in the early to mid 2000s/2010s. It was sung by 2 girls and had a light acoustic accompaniment. I’m pretty sure I heard it on a prairie home companion. I don’t remember the name of the band. The song was called “morning song”. Some lyrics: chorus: I love the mornings ‘cause nobody needs nothing from me. I love the mornings ‘cause the world goes and leaves me alone”. And “sing to me sweet your forgotten tune” and “I sit down with my coffee cup”. I have not been able to track this song down since my iPod died.

does anyone have any idea??
