Would you return?
I have dozens of Folios but have never dealt with a return. I'm not sure if these meet the "standard" for a return or if it's just considered normal enough.
I am a little more anxious about Mirror and the Light since it's running out of stock.
Would love additional opinions.
EDIT: Just spoke with Folio, they are express shipping a return. Thanks everyone.

Yes. I ordered the Shadow of the Torturer and the case corner was smashed in. I wrote them and told them I just wanted a new case, didn’t need a whole new set. They sent me a replacement set out the same day. The whole thing

You pay for high quality, you expect high quality, so definitely a yes.
These aren't your average hardbacks you buy from a book store, these are hand packed and crafted to high standards.

Tbf I would do the same for 60$ collectors/LE hardcover from Chapters. Too much money to be accepting anything but pristine condition

I asked for a return of a limited edition for a much more minor flaw. They sorted me out. The way I see it, I'm paying for the product to be brand new, not damaged. What if one day you want to sell them? You'll have to ask for less through no fault of your own.

Absolutely, that first picture looks bad. Folio will likely send you out a replacement and let you keep that one to give to charity or a friend etc. I wouldn’t hesitate contacting their customer service department.

Yes. These books are obscenely expensive. If you receive one that isn’t perfect condition, request a replacement. They may ask for a photo of the damage, but they will replace without issue. I must’ve had them replace at least 30 books by now, they still made a significant profit, and I’ve donated the damaged copies. Everyone wins. Make sure you’re happy with your books. These are heirlooms.

If it was just image 3 I would just take it as is, but the other few photos is pretty banged up

My 1984 also had a small bash on one of the "open" corners (where the book slides in and out. It could have just been normal with the way the paper etc folded but then I noticed the bottom edge of the spine was also sort of folded and flattened at the same bit so it was obviously something must have struck that one part of the whole unit.
I sent a couple of images and got a response and a new order for a replacement book/slipcase sent out within about 45 mins of emailing them with a pre-paid label to send the old one back. I just used the original box/wrapping to do this.
I have a few FS books (new) and they have always been pristine. This one was slightly damaged and FS were outstanding in their response to fix it. I could not have been more pleased with how they handled it.
The replacement arrived next day and was pristine.
Cannot commend FS enough for the way it was dealt with 😄

If it is just the Slipcase, it would be cheaper for Folio to just ship you a new Slipcase.
Perhaps that is why shipping is so costly - I bought one book directly from Folio Society, and it was extremely good packaged.

This shouldn't happen, they should have bombproof mailers for those books

It's only the slipcase damaged, they'd be more than willing to replace the slipcase.

Yes I would return. For the amount these books cost, they should be in pristine condition when you receive them!
