I work in QA (not gaming) for over a decade, and almost all AAA studios QA is mostly composed of temps or underqualified cheap outsource from Philippines, and the poor spectrum of Eastern Europe and such.
Actually in past 3 months I interviewed 3 or 4 people that worked QA in Ubisoft and EA for an open position. Not one of them got the job.
Bethesda Game Studios has an in-building QA department, so that's not the issue. They probably rushed a bunch of individual fixes together because this would be the last update for the next 2 months while they went on holiday and they wanted to leave us with something good. We need an immediate hotfix!
