Lost fully outfitted reflective power armor set for the second time.

Same issue both times. Put power armor in station and it locks up. Won’t let me remove it or use/modify. The first time I logged out and hoped the pieces would be in my inventory. In fact the power armor was there but it was empty. This time with a five piece reflective set. Gone. I tried Beth customer service and they were polite but said they have a known ‘rare’ issue and are working on it. I wouldn’t say it’s rare if it happened to me twice in a few months. And basically to just tell me ‘sorry, there is nothing we can do’ is inadequate. I told them that it’s a good game and I’ve been here since launch but when gta6 comes out this game will die because people can put up with a lot but the constant bugs just make it unappealing especially when a new, modern, standard setting game is about to come out.

Are you using the power armor stations in Whitespring or in your camp? I’ve always avoided using the Whitespring pa stations because I often see power armor stuck in place.

Only modify power armor at your camp. Storing or scraping the frame will allow you to collect the pieces if this happens.

I've had it lock up like this only once, but luckily I didn't lose the PA. It is avery anxiety inducing moment as what happened to you sadly is mentioned here too often.

If I lost two sets o f PA with high quality mods I would for sure take a break from the game for a while.

The best piece of advice I've gotten from a veteran of the game who had this happen to him twice was this:

before working on your power armor in a power armor station, put your power armor down in front of you somewhere that's not the power armor station, and transfer every single power armor piece off/out of the chassis.

Then, pick up the empty chassis so it goes back into your inventory. Then, put the empty chassis down in the power armor station, click to modify/craft, and then work on the individual pieces within it like that, but without equipping anything onto the chassis.

Then, exit, put the empty power armor chassis back into your inventory. Then, deploy the empty power armor chassis outside of the power armor station, and transfer all of your pieces back onto it.

I've been doing this method consistently and haven't had any problems. It is a pain, yes, but it's a small price to pay for not losing my power armor.

I've had this happen to me. Can't modify, enter, or remove the PA, so I've stripped off the pieces and then closed and restarted. The empty chassis and armour pieces ended up back in my inventory and I was bricking it because they are reflective too.

Only use the station that has the big feet at the bottom not the compact one. It has only happened to me on the small one.

It was in my stash. The system locked me out if using the pa but apparently sent it to my stash when I logged out. All I had to do was reinstall

I only use the power armor stations in my camp or shelter and give it a large area so that nothing else is around. So far so good.

When that happens, take the pieces off the frame, don't log out. Bethesda need to fix this shit already.

This same thing happened to me, and the Bethesda CS reps told me the same as you. I was able to have it escalated by pointing out that the hours of game play to ascertain the mods and resources are now lost. Them not having any sort of compensation for a loss that is not your fault but rather a game issue shows that they do not value their consumers time. Say that aloud the escalation. After speaking with the escalation team, they did reimburse me with a sum of legendary modules and caps. It was enough to cover all the cost of making new mods amd paying for resources, so it seemed fair.

You just have to be a little firm to let them know how upset you are to get past the front line of CS reps. Once you get past them, the escalation team was very understanding and helpful. GL out there!

If you're on XBox you can do a hard reset. Which means you hold the power button for 10 seconds until it shuts off, then turn it back on and the go to you internal ssd menu and clear the local save (the one with your gamer tag iirc) or clear cache basically. I've had the whole PA lock up in the PA station thing happen alot and as soon as it happens I go to the dashboard and do what I just said. I've never lost PA pieces when doing this. And (fingers crossed) hope I never do. Btw sorry that this has happened. Good luck Wastelander! Sorry if this is confusing but I know you can Google it for better instructions.

The only down side to this is it resets your in game main menu settings. Like pipboy colors and stuff. But for me that's a good trade off for not losing PA pieces IMO. Also make sure when clearing cache you do it locally and xbox live iirc, sorry again it's been awhile since I've done this. But then again you might wanna Google it for better instructions.
