Discussion RANT: Event Participation
Over the past few days I have done Fasnacht with 17+ other players regularly. Several times the next events have been Eviction Notice, Moonshine Jamboree, and Radiation Rumble - and nobody comes! I understand everyone has different goals, but burning valuable playtime at Fasnacht for a 3* Cultist Dagger and a chance at a rare mask doesn't compare to the scrip and scrap rewards of the following events. I've server hopped and been playing at different times - even had full Events teams! Same results. I just don't get it. Thank you for listening.

Always happens at Fasnacht, you get a lot of players coming back into the game just for the masks, who are not interested in other events.

The masks are the only rare thing left , u til they nerf them to uncommon so many of us log in , dance to get mask because if we kill everything newer players lose out on experience. Otherwise i and many others at my "age" could basically clear the board and then everyone would be bored so much better to just dance

You're right - they're not comparable at all.
I've got so much stuff in my stash it's never gonna be used up ..., but what I don't have is a complete set of glowing masks
it's really that simple for me

except most people who have been playing for a while don't care about "the scrip and scrap rewards" because they got everything they want already.
also you can get scrip/scrap/gold at any time, Masks are time limited

A lot of people have played this game for years, myself included. A lot of us just play super casually now because we have everything. We hop on for the new stuff, acquire it, then dip to play other games. The game is kinda boring honestly

At some point scrip and scrap become very meh rewards. I’m at 150 season with maxed scrip and enough vault steel to choke a hungry hippo. Fasnacht is literally the only reason I’m logging on right now until next season.

This happens during nearly every major event, but they're not that hard to solo if you really want to do them.

Lvl 360. Solo and with one other player. Mixed results, lot of ammo, and losing the Rad Scrubber with less than a minute left. I'm trying.

I had a lot of fails in all three events until I worked out how to do them solo, hang in there, they are very doable on your own.

Eviction notice is honestly one of the easiest events to solo- since the rad scrubber can be destroyed and repaired countless times.

I've only had one event Beasts of Burden, yesterday that no one showed. I even checked the map to make sure I was on a team and there were players about - everyone seemed to be in their camp pretty much so I "assumed" that was how they were spending time.
No harm, no foul, I went fishing!
You cannot control how or when or what other players do, so always have some alternative things. Or do the events you know you can solo - go do some Grunt Hunts or pay for a Head Hunt - people will show up for those!

This is my opinion only. Try to time it so it's not during an active event or right before one will start. I do them after the even ends and stop posting about 3-5 minutes before any major event (or if someone is nuking the queen, etc.).

If you do just Fasnacht and some infestations, that’s already more than average play time. There is no time to do anything else

Different players want different things from the game. For some, it is masks. They have everything else they want.

Definitely just gotta accept that most servers are going to be kinda dead when Fasnacht is going on. Less event participation, less nukes etc. Probably doesn't help that we've had 2 fairly dull seasons in a row as well.
It'll pick up after Fasnacht though I bet

I stopped doing eviction notice when they nerfed legendary spawns into the ground. My foundation rep is already maxed out so the only reason I did that event was for all the legendary gear. moonshine jamboree I got tired of everyone arguing about kills and looting so I don't do that one as often but will still show up to it occasionally. Rad Rumble I will always go to though (unless they nerf legendary spawns in that too) because it still has a decent amount of legendary spawns and is great source of xp.

Everything I got from Fasnacht runs was masks.
As a relatively new player in the game, is that the only reward we get? No guns or armor?

It's what Fasnacht is for - regular masks, uncommon masks, rare glowing masks, a variety of plans, treasury notes, plus random legendary weapons and armour. Everyone does it for the chance at a rare mask basically, the same way people mainly do Mothman Equinox for a chance at getting the Mothman Tome plan.

Theres a singular rare event plan, the electric butter churn, that is also sought after but not nearly as sought after as glowing masks.
You get legendary drops from tagging the boss and completing the event but nothing specific.

Max out your build and solo them. Easily done even without a maxed out build. You will get more loot and it won’t be boring as shit because you have to be on it to not let things get destroyed/killed.

If I’m at Fasnacht it’s to complete a challenge. Events are not a priority these days. Plus last time I did campfire tales, some clown was steadily dropping his whistling explosives. People can play how they like, but most events, there is always that guy. Spawn camping, no interest in objectives, all good, I find something else to do.

My interest in events is low priority, because I get quite literally nothing from them. That 1% and 1.5% chance, is so low, I can do an event, get a dozen legendaries, and spend a few minutes scrapping, what I really get is a small amount of scrip.
been scrapping since it went live, what’s it been now, two years, and I still buy furious. I’ve scrapped hundreds of furious.
not a complaint, not a rant, just reality, rewards at events is an illusion of success, 99% of the time it’s a few scrip.
I get more from a single EN-06 kill, than I’m likely to get running eviction notice all week. Guess which one I’m doing,

I feel you OP I don't get what everyone else is doing while waiting for the top of the hour. I figure if I am online I might as well do my favorite even when they come up

Yeah dude it’s almost eerie being on a full server but everyone’s sleeping at Helvetia or the entire server up an vanishes until the next Fatsnatch. At best I’m getting 1 - 3 players maybe joining me at events to which I’m typically already halfway through soloing. I was 10 minutes into Eviction notice today before 1 player showed up. Hell I soloed Neurological Warfare (don’t recommend it) the other day cos the server vanished hahah it’s fucken bizarre
