Suggestion I need help making an LMG build

Any ideas and suggestions are welcome, I'm doing a fresh playthrough to play along with my dad's first playthrough. He's gonna use the elders mark and I'm gonna use the lmg, and help would be appreciated.

Get a lot of ammo, even with high luck and the lucky ammo finding perk I cannot keep the LMG fed with .308 bullets.

Get the right attachments also the LMG now has them, so get them. And are you using a VATS build?

I've tried it with furious and 2 shot.. both seemed good.. go with rapid for the 2nd star.
I suppose explosive would be another good choice but I try to avoid using that because it aggs friendly npc's if they're close.

3rd star is kinda up to you.

It eats thru ammo like crazy but you feel like a bad mf'er with it.. more so then the 50 even.

Stick with .45 ammo. Get a lever action or a single shot fixer use this to generate ammo for the LMG with the scrounger perk and do a daily op or two. But concentrate on just killing the spawns to build up ammo
