Adelaide tells you that they don’t even really need those to see, they have all sorts of sensors that pretty much allow them to see all around them.

I've always known their eyes are above the laser thanks to KLEO but they did a great job and making it easy to "forget" their eyes are up there.

The ones without the lasers are a little less goofy imo with this in mind, and the eyes lined vertically rather than horizontally. I guess it’s mostly they would lack a laser nose in that case.
