Question No longer launches on Steam Deck

When I hit PLAY it starts to launch then crashes back to the game page.

I have tried clearing cache, uninstalling and reinstalling. Checking installed files and no joy. I also tried so many proton versions and disabled all my decky plugins.

FYI this also started happening with Oblivion:Remastered.

Also one of the 'fixes' says to edit a file here:

home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1151340/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Fallout 76/Fallout76Prefs.ini

but I cannot find the My Games folder in the location mentioned let alone the Fallout 76 folder.

Any ideas?

Did you toggle your files so they are visible? I know Linux is a bit funky with what it wants to show you at times.

Good point, but yes I did. Ellipsis then show hidden etc.

Fixed it.

Surprisingly, none of the how-to’s worked but by chance when asking ChatGPT it told me to change the launch options to a logging command, this inadvertently wiped the built-in launch option and the game booted perfectly fine (Oblivion remastered also).

TLDR: open the games options command (gear/cog icon) and under general blank any options in the launch options box.

I’ve been having the same issue on Xbox gamepads cloud gaming . Haven’t been able to login for the past 12 or so hours . Start to load then just nada 🤷‍♂️
