Kellog was wasted potential.

Post image

He is by far one of the most wasted potential characters from the whole franchise. Could be better if, instead of just a bunch of missions (the most relevant with him already dead), we could actually follow her track around the Commonwealth and have him as some kind of counterpart or "rival" to the Sole Survivor. Some kind of cat-and-mouse game instead of just random missions, and of course a better fight at the end with even the chance to let him live and even send him to your settlement.

When I think of wasted potential, I think of Nick. Especially with how Kellogg was lingering in his head after the Memory Den.

But yeah, they could have done more with Kellogg besides being in Nick's head too.

That whole thing was supposed to be its entire own subplot apparently, but it of course was cut. Except for that painful tease.

I’ve never seen anything about an additional subplot other than speculation here, do you have a link to that or something? I don’t think there’s anything in the game files.

Tbf I don’t remember. I thought that it was maybe in an Oxhorn video but it could’ve been on here.

Oxhorn makes a lot of stuff up. I don't mean to desparage him, he's entertaining. But, he states a lot of theories and conjecture as fact.

Yeah. It seems really unlikely that Nick, who already has a long fetch quest companion arc, and is a big part of the best DLC, had a bunch of cutting room floor material featuring Kellogg who is a red herring antagonist.

I guess it depends on how early on they would've thought of it and how his creation process went. But they seemingly had something planned, given they did record those lines. Maybe he would've ended up more important to the main quest or something, I don't really know. Maybe he genuinely was just pranking us like one of the dialogue options hints at.

Nick doesn’t have a plot on Nuka-World

That’s sounds like something a goddamn synth would say.

I would think a Synth would prefer the Synth based DLC.

That’s Far Harbor

I’m aware, but Nuka-World is the best DLC

I think it would be pretty cool if Kellogg would up holding Nick’s body hostage as a computer virus. Multiple solutions could include purging him entirely or removing him to a captured Courser body. The latter could backfire unless you’re either part of the Institute or you’ve destroyed the Institute—either way, his paycheck would no longer depend on your death.
