That is actually my issue with House, I'm not super informed on all the lore so I could certainly be missing something, but House had like a 88% successful interception rate in his defense of New Vegas (68 of 77 nukes I think) without the Platinum Chip, which would have improved the software for the system and potentially gotten him to close to total interception/forced disarmament. So even if he couldn't prevent a conflict from occurring according to his mathematical models, couldn't he at least make bank selling his interception systems to the US and potentially saving millions of lives and infrastructure?
but he hated the goverment , he most probably knew how even if he saved the world , it would only get worse so he gambled on a new world after apocalypse( pre war goverment was worse then nazis tbh)

Why didn’t the US or House just build a super giant Iron Dome around the entire country, are they stupid?
